I've didn't have to add baking soda just drain it all out and washing out with destill water again, then just add distilled water and add a tablespoon of sulfer acid per cell and do like 4 to 5 cycles of heat with a welder or 200 amp battery charger your good to go I start low and work my way up to 200 amps on last cycle. I restored 2 batteries one was completely dead the other was 8 volts, I revived the completely dead one threw it in a car and still cranks in below 25 degree weather 😊, glad it worked for you this way!!

This method will allow the battery to work temporarily. It can get you by for the time being until you can afford a new battery. The actual capacity of the "restored" battery is quite low and will not last long.

Actually I reject this claim. Isn't the electrolyte the dangerous chemical that we are trying to recycle to protect the environment. So yes if you were to just throw the battery in the trash then this is the worst thing. However, afaik recycling the battery at a recycling center will reuse the electrolyte too. With this method you are just going to dump the electrolyte down the drain or maybe you will spill in outside. Yes you will reuse the plastics and metals but the most important part you will not reuse.

When the 'plates are worned thin, you cannot save it. BUT!! I take old dead batteries for 'their battery acid/ sulfuric acid' . It's hard to obtain if you're not a commercial company and expensive. After doing 'all your tricks to revive', if load test still fails ( poor) and doesn't hold charge, junk it or use it as counter weight for gym work.

Your lucky you can easily access the tops to open and refill solution. A lot of batteries are all sealed and only way to 'cut top off'. In my case, I use a soldier tip to melt and screw driver and hammer to do this.

@CreativeHacker7 most of the lead sulfide is on the anode which is the lead one I'm just scraping that one I'm not touching the other one unless it stays together when I completely let the battery dry out. I don't think it's a good idea to add baking soda unless you buy more sulfuric acid. That stuff is expensive might as well go buy another battery if u are going to buy acid.

Do not put baking soda in your battery to clean, it may or may not work temporary, but will ruin battery. You can flush out battery after proper charge sequence using the correct type of charger, then flush with distilled water only and refill with acid, slow charge battery 24 to 72 hrs as required, check hydrometer reading and top with acid if needed to bring to proper temp range reading. Then discharge to 11 volt slowly and recharge. Your battery will read 12.4 to 13v at this point if successful. If you can't initially charge to 12 volt min you have a shorted cell and will never recover battery. And don't use Epsom salt either, Will help temporarily only.

Po pierwsze ,do obecnych akumulatorów bezobsługowych trzeba się włamać aby to zrobić { jest to możliwe } po drugie jednak nie każdy akumulator da się uratować jeśli płyty zużyte, po trzecie ,niejednokrotnie wystarczy dolać elektrolitu i dobrze naładować , ci co zamknęli akumulator i nazwali go bezobsługowy zadbali o kasę producenta a nie klienta. i did the baking soda($1) method today..... without epsom salt.... let it sit a while ... gave it a shake now and then until the bubbling stops completely..... then i rinsed with clean water couple times till water comes out clean...... then i added fresh distilled water($1.50) and then fresh battery acid($3) ...... before i started the volt reading was 11V and after i was finished adding the liquids the multimeter showed 12V without even charging ..... its on the charger now on 2Amps .... gonna let it charge few hours and check whether the car will start this time .. . hope so

its the next day now after doing the baking soda.... charging batttery inside house for 5 hours ..... car cranked slow but started..... i drove around a bit ..... after that car started everytime..... my conclusion is that the baking soda works, and you must add fresh battery acid and distilled water.......my other conclusion is that the alternator charges differently than a house charger, even better..... i think its about the Amp output of alternator thats higher

Não façam essa besteira. Só volta a dar carga se as placas estiverem boas. Antigamente, as baterias não eram lacradas e as pessoas tinham que completar com solução. Por virem lacradas, ninguém faz mais isso. Basta vc colocar solução periodicamente na bateria e pronto. Vai durar até que aa placas definhem. Extremamente perigoso inalar esse ácido . Não vale a pena correr esse risco. Sua saúde vale mais. Isso só funciona quando as placas ainda estão boas.
