Hi Bethanie, I hope you got all of your clients to follow you onto Zoom. You're making a great contribution servicing seniors. Keeping them inspired, strong & flexible means they're able to enjoy a better quality of life. Committing to exert a small effort, repeated every day, over 6 months to a year, can build a weak or overweight person into a nearly unrecognizable healthy & fit new person. I saw several mind blowing testimonials from DDP Yoga (Diamond Dallas Paige, former wrestler). He recovered from an injury using Yoga & developed a program to help others with disabilities. He modified poses to use chairs or other means of support to gradually help clients modify their lifestyle with movement & diet to reclaim their health. Many underwent seemingly impossible transitions & were nearly unbelievable. They kept mini time stamp videos as a journal to show their progress as proof. Any one that feels defeated should watch that & they'd be encouraged to try. Wishing you & your clients wonderful success & abundant Blessings!

Thank you Marcia! I'm retired and great with computers - shop and do everything on line, BUT I've never done a Zoom. A medical professional wants to do one, she just let me know. So from the time she called (a few minutes ago) I watched one short video on where to download it and yours on how to use it. Wow, I thought it would be so complicated and it's not - or you're so very good at explaining it. When I watch TV and people are using it, I kind of laugh when people often try to talk but they're still on Mute....so I'll watch that. Thanks again - you're great! Thank you for this instructional video, Marcia. I am a singer (classical and jazz) in four ensembles of differing sizes, and have been using ConferZoom now for about five weeks for all of my classes and performance rehearsals - it works great, even for our large groups of up to 100 people. I also use it for my 1:1 tutoring and small group practice sessions. Our family just used it for the first time so that we could "get together" on Easter Sunday, and we had one person join us who is very "technically challenged" with all computer programs, and has never used Zoom before - so I had to talk her through the process, which was a bit of a hair-pulling exercise. It would have been so much easier for her, as well as for me, had she viewed your video prior to joining the call.A couple of comments:1) Although you did briefly mention the "Chat" feature, you didn't address the issue of appropriate and proper "Chat" etiquette or behavior. It would be a good idea to include more information about the Chat feature - how it functions, what the features and benefits are, when to use it and when not to use it, and to explain the pros and cons about sending out a chat message to everybody on the call versus sending a out a private message to just one specific individual on the call. That is a great benefit of the Chat feature, and should be used by a lot more people. In my experience with the large-group Zoom meetings, there are always a number of people whose online behavior is what I would call that of a "Chat Hog" - meaning, that they are sending out Chat messages to everyone all the time, even when it is not necessary to respond to someone's comment (it becomes Chat filler material and is very distracting for the rest of us to have to read or disregard...).2) You left out the "Participants" feature, which is also a great tool and is rather essential for larger-size groups, especially if the host is trying to take attendance or even for anyone who is trying to keep track of who is on the call. I use it heavily. Also, that way everyone can see who is using the "Raise Your Hand" icon in order to ask a question.3) I would also encourage you to include a brief tutorial in your video about the use of the icons:- "Applause" and "Thumbs Up"- "Yes" and "No"- "Go Faster" and "Go Slower"- and the rest of them - they are all really useful tools, especially for calls and meetings with more than 6 people. Thanks again -- Gina B.

I did it! This was a very helpful video, I wanted to do it myself, even though husband is computer scientist and could have helped me (am I perverse?). The only thing I would add, I clicked onto join meeting half an hour before time due to start, not 10 mins beforehand, and glad I did so. Felt so much more confident that the programme was downloaded and the volume/camera was set up before the start, would have panicked if I had left it all to the last minute.

Excellent presentation, slow and clear. I would make two suggestions. On a laptop, visually things appear much smaller. Enlarging the cursor and use word prompt to locate icons on interface would be helpful. Visually tracking a cursor on screen can be difficult if the cursor is moving two fast and it is too small. For example, I would say ," The mute bottom on the lower left of screen" while circling the cursor very slowly around the button, before clicking it. As an elderly crusty sculptor visual tracking is delayed when trying to follow verbal instructions at the same time. I greatly appreciate you efforts, I would like to try a zoom meeting with other sculptors.

WOW!!!! Amazing; Marcia, Thank you so very much. I will try this today; have a zoom at 1030 am. I enjoyed building my computer but I want to set up a new iMac pro. to join church services + teaching ASAP. Everyone needs a teacher like you; calm, reassuring, and caring.

Hi Marcia! This is a very clear and helpful getting started vid for Zoom. Thank-you for taking the time to put this together. My current creative living project is that I want to get a laser etcher and design my own floor tiles for my office. I plan to cut 14 by 14 tiles out of 1/4 in wood sheeting. My design will be scaled to the room. The design will involve celtic knots. Best wishes.

Thank you so so so so much! I’m pretty young and I moved to a different school which uses zoom. I was very scared at first and went through a lot of videos which didn’t help me calm down. I was about to give up until this video came up! I watched it and it helped me! I’m so grateful!

You have a very clear voice and your pacing is great for people new to Zoom. I would make one suggestion - your introduction is too long. The how only begins at the 1:13 mark. People will go to another video within 10-15 seconds if they don't get what they are looking for; the preamble about why and how you use it is not what people are looking for as your title is "Joining a Zoom Call for the First Time; Fun and Easy Online Connection".

Thank you for the suggestion - there is always more to learn! :-)

Thank you for making this so clear and easy to understand. You have such wonderful positive energy. It just made me so comfortable learning I had to watch a couple of times. I may watch it again just to enjoy it for that reason. I'm 55 and learning is more of a challenge. Wish you could be my teacher in every class and life lesson I need to learn. And I'm not just trying to flatter you. If the world had your positive and peaceful personality what a great world it would be.
