Engraving LEGO using LEGO...

This LEGO Engraving Machine can engrave ANY image on the surfaces of Apples and Eggs (and probably more).
The robot is programmed using python.

The result on the egg looks amazing! Now make something like a CNC milling machine that can make 3D things out of styrofoam (piepschuim) ;)

There is a Lego lathe that handle ‘oase’ (that green stuff to put flowers in). I think that has a better/finer structure than styrofoam. Edit: the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXeToYB_gblqlbs

Very cool video! I must say though, as someone who does a fair amount of machining, the runout on that tool was physically painful for me.

Haha I get that and I'm sorry! It was nearly impossible to get it perfectly still, since there wasn't a single lego piece that fit perfectly around it and I already did use some sort of clamping stand to hold it perfectly in the center of a lego brick while gluing it in.

For sure, even if you glued it perfectly, Lego isn't exactly designed for low runout applications :P still an awesome project!
