I have a couple of points: 1) Pretty much every streaming service hurts recording artists because they pay little to nothing for the use of their songs, and 2) We will never escape copyright hell until we don't have to sell our creations to eat anymore. I would love to stop doing commissions tomorrow, but I can't and it forces me to be protective about certain aspects of my work. Otherwise, I do absolutely agree with the thrust of the video; creativity is best shared freely and without jealousy or misgivings.

This is insanely good. It makes you wonder how much stuff people could've made without copyright issues, and how easy it is to reach others and make something really cool.

Thats super kind of ya! I can't count how many times I've watched youtubers/videos I like fall victim to copyright issues sometimes even totally bogus claims. The change in the 70s I really do think has had a massive stifling effect on creative freedoms so I'd love to see a change cause ppl could make such cool things!

This really was such a weird project from an even weirder time but I really do think it was worth reflecting on cause idk it was just so earnestly done. But what do you think, were you even aware this insane musical was made?

Projects like these are so inspirational. There was another one called Musical Without a Cool Acronym which was an online Phineas and Ferb musical

So this is how creativity dies, not in isolation, but in a world full of noise

When listing your examples of things that are hurting creativity, I'm glad you didn't blame it all on one thing. It's really easy to get people engaged and enraged by blaming one entity or decision, but you were able to point out things that are wrong and still look at the bigger picture. I really admire that.

I really wanted to try and cover how varied the issue is with multiple factors effecting online spaces so I'm really glad that that came through :D

Holy SHIT man. I just stumbled across your channel. I freaking LOVE finding KZbinrs who are freaking goated with the sauce, but have an amount of subscribers not at all proportional to the content they’re putting out (in a good way). How do you not have hundreds of thousands of subscribers already! I’m loving your channel, I love the enthusiasm you speak with. Excited for what’s to come for you dawg. Much love

I thoroughly enjoy your content and this video however, my two cents below. Copyright law is so that this creativity we possess is protected, in a way that the creator is compensated for. I think a point unjustly missed is what is new/old content? Or who is the creator, the individual who rendered the character or the company who paid them, or the writer who wrote the script? I think another point missed is that the obstacles brought up against creativity were provided in such a way as that they were inherently wrong. Specifically, that no one has a reason to ban (or in this case force ByteDance to divest) TikTok or products tied to the CCP, whether true or not, or that no one agreed that creators should have their work protected for almost a century. Really this is all to say that the video provides great points but is not much of a trial more of an essay against current copyright protections while missing key points in favor of copyright, and is also an essay of how the Ratusical is a masterwork in an unexpected time of unexpected cooperation. It is absolutely remarkable what humans can, have, and will, do. I only think this video failed to iterate/expand/defend (in other words be a true trial) reasons for blocking/protecting the content made by creators. Keep up the fantastic work.
