Don't mean to be discouraging but I have noticed after doing this for a year that companies, especially marketing research companies, don't want seniors (over 65) opinions, we don't buy much being on a fixed income. @mtd945569 ай бұрын
It doesn't really work to lie about your age. Many of the surveys are about your health insurance coverage and your income, the number of children you were raising, where you live, how big your house is, what's your weekly grocery bill is like and what you purchase. On and on and on, so lying just get you into a web you do not want to spin.

I would like to know whether TJ’s “fishing” time is included when calculating the number of hours spent on this. The reason I ask is because $25/hr sounds great but if that gets diluted after you factor in the unpaid “fishing”/searching time then it’s not got as good an hourly salary as it seems at first.
@jessivigus73309 ай бұрын
She did, she calculated 80 to 90 hrs a month and divideed that into the $2500 to $3000, so yes it includes all the time spent, fishing and all.

The issue I have is with this type of work is that it's considered independent contractor. Therefore the employer does not pay social security taxes on on your behalf based on your wages. I was a notary signing agent and I found lots of work but at tax time I was paying 50% tax rate in my state. The money I made wasn't worth my time (and not to mention the wear & tear on my car.) Perhaps this is a better solution because there's no driving involved, yet the taxes are a bitter pill to swallow. Some may be willing trade the higher tax rate in order to have the flexibility.
@anniesshenanigans38159 ай бұрын
that is what I was thinking as well. Get paid 10 dollars and pay 5 dollars in taxes?? Not really worth it if you are spending an hour on a 'project' if you add up the time involved. that is less than the very low minimum wage!!

I'm a Realtor. We are considered self-employed. I keep all receipts. Keep a spread sheet of all buyers and sellers and related addresses. I use a specific credit card for all purchases related to my job. I then use TurboTax Home and Business and follow the step-by-step questions. I also make quarterly payments (most of the time). If you're organized, it only takes one day to gather everything and get my taxes done. If you don't make quarterly payments, definitely keep a separate bank account and set aside at least 15 percent from each payment you receive.
