They had a fantastic build up, an amazing story, a vicious villain in Aizen, and TONS of other awesome villains in the Espada - and then all of a sudden they rushed through everything and we get a stupid sequence of events where Ichigo gets impossibly more powerful over the course of like a day. Still upset over that.

Bleach changed my life as well. It taught me to be more appreciative of the friends and family I have. Tite Kubo really shaped my outlook on life as a kid growing up through his work. I love Bleach the way it is even though some people like to pick out the flaws. Heck I even loved the fillers because of the chemistry between the characters and their interactions as a family. I truly wanted to live in the unpredictable world of Bleach as a kid. Ichigo is my hero, Ichigo is a part of me. I've seen great and horrible anime throughout my life and Bleach was the only anime I could connect to on such a level. Thank you Kubo where ever you are in Japan right now for creating something amazing.

I'm a 35 yr old that suffers from depression. Most people laugh it off. Years ago I lost my granny and was seriously on that cliff looking over. I found bleach at this point and poured myself into it. I'll always be a bleach and kubo fan because it help me through one of the worst times of my adult life. So I hear this and kind of just nod and smile. What I went threw is in no way truly related to that poor child. But I still know that, for me, bleach was at one point the only thing that carried me through so I get that feeling. Thanks for posting this.

As a reader and watcher of Manga and Anime, I must say Bleach is probably my favorite. Not only for the interesting plot, characters, and overall power system; but for the entirety of Bleach and everything that has to do with it. From the fanbase, to the Mangaka himself. Like most, Bleach's fanbase is special in its own way. I personally love both One Piece and Bleach, but holy shit is it fun to listen to different theories for Bleach. To hear Tite Kubo's story makes me respect him tremendously, and pray for that damn kid. It also makes me want to shit on Jumps face.

One Piece should be over within the next eight years based on the research I did. I could be wrong but this is mainly based on information put out by interviews of Oda and his Team. That One Piece is around 75%-80%+ finished by this point. Which roughly means somewhere around 6-8+ years left. So lets hope Oda hangs in there but I do help he is able to finish this Manga and take a long break. Heck he should retire after he has worked more then most people work in a Lifetime on One Piece in terms of hours a week etc. If all goes smoothly OP should be finished by 2024 but in truth it who knows when it will be finished.

If Kubo really wanted to end the manga ASAP while completing the story, then why did his chapters have such a snails pacing near the end? Bleach is infamous for its slow pacing and quick chapters that can be read in a minute. I'm more curious as to how Shounen Jump interfered with his manga, and fucked up his ending. All in all, Bleach anime got me into anime and manga, so I'm grateful and have much respect for Kubo-sensei

+Linnyboy, Well let me ask you something instead. If you're sick, are you still able to deliver the same quality and quantity as you were before? You're lying, if you say yes. Obviously the amount of work will increase each week, hence he can't deliver the amount of content like he used to(the panel became bigger as a result) for each week. Shounen Jump obviously picked a date for Kubo and said they won't publish the manga anymore after that date is what I assume. Hence you can see the sudden jump in pace and the even ridiculous jump with some battles like Gerard and creating a plot device to beat Yhwach(since Kubo originally foreshadowed Ishida's ability to be a counter to Yhwach, but used the plot device instead). The final chapter however had all the content Kubo wanted to have to end Bleach. So he atleast had the ending he always wanted to have.

rukia motivated ichigo to overcome many obstacles, and the same could be said about ichigo.They had a strong friendship and they even lived together on many occasions before and a little after the soul society arc. How can people say that makes no sense compared to any other friendship ichigo had in the entire manga. The only people that would compare relatively close are ichigos immediate family(sisters and father). The whole show there are only maybe 2 instances orihime and ichigo hang out alone. Now compare that to rukia and ichigo, there's no remote comparison . I still don't believe Kubo intended orihime and ichigo to be together at the end of the entire manga, sure she felt strongly for him but all those feelings were very strange to have seeing as she barely knew ichigo as a person.

Well, let me say this to start: this is a manga and everyone can ship whoever they want. I mean, Kubo wanted it to end this way, but that doesn't mean you have to like those pairings :) Anyway, about your comment, it depends on they way you see friendship or the way you have experienced it. I've had a friendship like Ichigo and Rukia's (or Urahara and Yoruichi's) since I was Ichigo's age, and to me that is all there is: friendship. A very strong one, the kind you can sleep in the same bed, tell everything to each other and even secrets your partner will never know but will never evolve in a romantic way. It is a very strong bond and not a bit less important than what you have with your partner. It is kinda difficult to explain, but I can tell you that it really is nothing more than friendship. I'm saying this not to make you change your mind or to say that you are wrong about it (there's no right or wrong about this), just to say that it is not so strange for other people to see Ichigo and Rukia's friendship as just friendship :)

Well, at first this kind of touched me, but towards the end of the video it brought me back to the reality of being a mangaka. They simply (are forced to/force themselves to) work too much and too long under high concentration and huge pressure. It doesn't surprise me many of them get sick. They're probably already suffering from burnout, but just keep going for months or years which makes their health even worse. I don't think this is in any way desirable, no matter how many people you might provide happiness to with your work. Tite Kubo has always taken so much shit from everyone. As sad and touching as this revelation is, and it really is, fans who supported this manga for years who now feel cheated have a right to voice their grievances. Bleach was, for all intents and purposes, well on its way to a much higher-quality finale and conclusion several years back. I wonder if Kubo had gotten a letter from a dying boy asking him to stay true to the story, would that have allowed Bleach to remain on the better course? As cold and grim as that sounds, it is something to ponder. Regardless, what's done is done, and all we can do is carry on. It's what that boy would want, I'm sure, for us to not bring each other down over our disagreements.

Rest in peace child. On another note, I guess this clears quite a bit of the negative stigma w/ Shueisha a little bit. So many different accusations like Shueisha changed Kubo's story, Kubo wanted to end his story after Ichigo defeated Aizen, Shueisha rushed this & that, etc. etc. Yes, we all know they rushed the ending, but now we sort of know why. Kubo being sick, telling the story how he wanted to do it, we were only HALF WAY in 2011!? So really, he did keep writing the way he wanted to write, w/o anyone else telling him what to do which resulted in the questionable writing and decrease in sales & popularity. Not to mention, the depression he went under was also getting in the way of his writing. Overall, Kubo probably just lost interest in his own work & was just dragging it on to appease the few fans he had left (which were still a lot mind you, but not as much in the beginning). Fornever makes a point, this could have kept going for like 4-5 more years and with the decline it was going under, Shueisha couldn't keep making accommodations for Kubo when they were taking a loss as well. I salute you Kubo, hopefully your next work (if any happens) turns out a lot better overall.

Kinda wish some shippers were a bit more reasonable on the material they are watching / reading. Shonen anime like Dragonball, Bleach,Toriko, Naruto, and One Piece don't really do romance since it's not the main focus. On top of that, the main characters in those series are really dense when it comes to things like romance. Some not interested (like Luffy), some just role with it (like Goku and Toriko), and some just don't notice anything at all since they can't tell if someone is interested in them (like Naruto).

The sick boy mentioned reminds me of the child Ichigo had helped in the very first chapter of Bleach. It was incredible to see Ichigo as just a nice guy who wanted to help this child pass on and it really feels like the same thing with Tite Kubo being Ichigo and indirectly helping this kid get through such a hard time. Very interesting and sad. Major respect to Kubo staying true to himself and writing Bleach how he saw fit.

I don't think people had a problem with the direction and choices Kubo made in the latest arc, it's the execution that was problematic, and idk if that was because Jump rushed him or if he truly wanted things to pan out 100% that way. Either way I'll always appreciate this series and mangaka, downloading the OST's and listening to them on the bus ride to and from school, trying to draw my favorite characters or watching episodes every night on tv and then reading the manga. The countless fan debates and versus matches, the emotions that the series provided throughout my early years as a lost little kid. I will always love and be thankful for this series. Same with Naruto, One Piece, FMA, and many many more.

Kubo started writing Bleach the way he wanted to write it and a lot of the fanbase left after this because they didn't like the change in quality and pacing and the sales dropped so Jump said get your shit done because were cancelling your serialization so Kubo rushed it to appease the fans but left so many plot holes and unanswered questions in its wake that the entire fan base is now triggered \ Also he didn't ship Ichigo with Rukia TRIGGEREDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

The one thing I don't get about all this is that if we knew his health was a concern and was going to be an issue with the manga, why did add so much onto the last arc when he had a couple really good opportunities to end it before it started going down hill? Just off the top of my head, right as Ichigo came back from the Soul Kings Palace would been a good place to start getting to the final fight, or if he really wanted to show off the Zero Division, he could have started the ending about there, and had Ichigo have the final fight when he got back up there. Either way, it would have given him plenty of time to wrap up things up at either of those points since after the Zero Division bit it was chapter after chapter of Captain vs Sternritter fights that got more ridiculous as time went on.

I think what happened was that he had too many characters so he couldn't make a decision or figure out how to give all of them their spot light in the soul society setting. He probably just didn't know where to go after that point.

Because of the editors, the first arc and the SS arc were supposed to be longer but SJ rushed him, in fact SJ has been rushing the whole series, except for the Arrancar arc which was supposed to be shorter but the Fandumb forced the Gotei 13 to hog the spotlight, this series has had WAY TOO much fan involvement.

Isshin was also a spirit and he still ended up with Ichigo's mom. Not to mention you also had the whole "Ichigo might have stay in Soul Society because he's too powerful now." thing going on right up until the last few chapters of the arc. It was honestly up in the air how things were going to turn out until we got to those last few chapters. Also, humans getting together with non-humans isn't exactly new to fiction. Humans falling in love with demons, gods, spirits, etc happens all the time in stories.

SuperCasperman Right but in that case it could have still worked with Ichigo and Rukia, just in reverse. So instead of Rukia going into a human body to be with Ichigo, Ichigo could have been made to stay in Soul Society because of his immense spiritual pressure. Meaning he and Rukia would both be living as spiritual beings in Soul Society. The possibility was set up at about the half way point of the arc and it was the most likely outcome until Juha stole Ichigo's energy in the last few chapters of the arc.

SuperCasperman For me personally I couldn't see Orihime happening because I didn't think there was enough development for the relationship. We learned Orihime liked Ichigo and that was pretty much it. With Hakusho I knew Keiko was going to be the main girl because she and Yusuke had been friends for years and the connection between the two was very well established through flashbacks and through their interactions in the present. Even before the first real arc started we learned that Keiko was more important to Yusuke than even his own life when he threw his spirit Egg into the fire. Orihime's feelings on the other hand just felt one sided to me. She didn't really know Ichigo until the start of the series and was never even really able to hold a conversation alone with him. I thought Tatsuki was a more believable choice honestly as far as other human options go.
