"Indie" means that it's an independent developer who doesn't have a publishing deal. Payday had a publisher, it was developed internally at Sony Online Entertainment as well as published by Sony. That's the reason that it was only PS3 and PC, SOE publishes to PC as well as Sony's own consoles. I think Payday would just not be considered a AAA game, is the term they were looking for.
