Hearing about the Curupira, brought to mind stories I heard as a child, and I needed to look it up. In the Colombian territories, the are ""The Boraro (The Pale Ones), is a more monstrous version of The Curupira from Brazilian Folklore in the mythology of the Tucano people. Much like the "Curupira" it has backwards facing feet to confuse it's foes and is a protector of wildlife. Beyond its feet however, it is far more grotesque in appearance."

I'd think clearly Yacumama "was" a titanoboa & now sadly is just remembered through retold stories.

Titaniboa was long extinct before humans came to the americas, but glyptodonts, smilodon, dire wolves, mastodonts, and terror birds were around.

I've heard a slightly different version of La Larona's story where her husband died young, leaving Maria and her two children almost destitute and on the verge of homelessness. So Maria since she was the most beautiful woman in her village attempted to seduce a rich Spanish nobleman who was in Mexico on business, but when he discovered that not only was she widowed, but that she had two young children he broke off their relationship despite talk of him possibly marrying her. Believing that the children were in the way of her future she drowned them in a nearby river. Thinking that she had fixed the "problem", she told him what she had done only for him to tell her that he wanted nothing more to do with her before returning to Spain and marrying a girl from his own social class. She supposedly cursed him to know nothing but misfortune before drowning herself knowing that she now had no future. When she met St. Peter at the gates of Heaven he asked her where her children and she told him she did not know, so he sent her back saying that if she returned with them she would be granted access to Heaven. So far she has yet to find them which is why she's known for drowning any child she gets hold of.

The pronunciations in this video are all sort of off to the point of off-putting. How about we don't use AI that is of poor quality?
