worshiping God in the beauty and splendor of his holiness.... i love Latin mass, it brings one closer to eternity.

This is a perfect example of the glorious, magnificent liturgy of the Roman Catholic Church. It,s a shame and a pitty this liturgy has disappaered out of many catholic churches.......

Could not agree more with your sentiments. We need to return to our old liturgy and roots, including Credo III each Sunday. Thank you.
@mysticalmargaret61052 жыл бұрын
I agree. I grew up in the 1970s and 80s. I left the Church for years. When I went back, I couldn't recognize nor hardly follow along with the liturgy nor the responses. Not a fan. And the modern 'music' I don't care for at all.

PLEASE, please, please, to all Cardinals of the World, let us have the old rite back in more churches as part of regular Sunday worship. It gives dignity and a sense of sacredness to the mundane, and there's plenty of 'mundane' in the Mass today. Thank you. Dona nobis Pacem.

I dont think this one is the old rite though. Not a single woman is wearing a veil. I think is a latin NO. From the comments above, I think this is the right conclusion.

@ Correct. This clips is not the Old Rite, but still beautiful to listen to.

After the second Vatican Council, the Church changed. But many people are called to the Catholic Church because of the Traditional Latin Mass. Many traditions have now been discarded by them, the Traditional Latin Mass is our hope that Catholicism will remain alive. Let's pray to God that all the beautiful traditions like heaven will return

Credo III indeed lifts the worshipper upwards as well back to an innocence whence beliefs bled into our lives despite a preponderance of secularism. I savored liturgy in Westminster in days gone by.

@Jean Cabrol I don't think you are thinking at all. I teach priests the rubrics.
@larryjohnwong4 жыл бұрын
@Jean Cabrol I see insufficient theological evidence that the Novus Ordo Missae is not a true Mass. While I do see the Novus Ordo Missae is textually deficient to the Tridentine Mass, it is still a valid and licit missal. Call it banal, watered down, untraditional, Protestant-friendly, which I do agree; I do not find enough evidence to convince me it is an untrue (i.e. invalid) Mass. And I acknowledge that valid consecration does not mean valid Mass, nevertheless I still hold the view that the Novus Ordo Missae is valid. It is also not right to defame the priests who @Seaghan Ó Buadhaigh instructed without even knowing them personally. You wouldn't want people to call you child molester because you are a Catholic and a few Catholic priests molested children. Why would you then, call priests idolatrous (implied by Pachamama) just because they celebrate the Novus Ordo? False accusation is a sin.
@WumboRagamuffin4 жыл бұрын
@Jean Cabrol not sure what that's all about but he's right, in the new missal, the genuflections at the et incarnatus est are only done on christmas and the annunciation.

I just found out by asking a very gracious staff member of the Westminster Cathedral that the composer behind the polyphonic setting of the "Et incarnatus est"-section is de Lassus. Which mass it concerns remains a mystery, but I am digging through all of his recorded works to find which one it might be, though I'm afraid that it might be a mass which has never been recorded.
@cantor1285 жыл бұрын
I am told it is Messe "Pilons pilons l'orge"

@@cantor128: Yes, I read the same thing on musicasacra (a forum) just a day ago. There doesn't seem to be any recordings of the Mass in question though, with the exception of a recording of the Gloria and the Sanctus (which was truly wonderful stuff to hear). But maybe one complete recording will show up eventually. It's great that we finally know who the composer is and which Mass of his it concerns. I know many have been asking this question.

rogbi200, have you found out who's the composer behind the "Et incarnatus est"-section yet? I've searched through the Masses by Victoria to find this particular section but haven't managed to find it. I love it; it's such a serene, devotional expression of an almost wordless meditation before the great mystery of the eternal Son incarnate in Jesus Christ.
