Cree | Turtles All The Way Down, Nickelodeon, OCD

Cree is an American actress who broke out as an actress on Nickelodeon’s hit show “Game Shakers.” Born in New York, Cree grew up as a competitive dancer along with her twin sister Jayce. Then, by chance, Cree found herself entering the acting world where she quickly discovered her passion for it. Since moving to Los Angeles to pursue her professional career, Cree has starred in several projects including the sitcom “Mr. Iglesias”, Netflix’s film “The Sleepover” and HBO’s “...And Just Like That”. On today’s episode, Cree came by to talk all about her new film “Turtles All the Way Down” based on the John Green novel of the same name. Cree stars as Daisy, the best friend of the protagonist Aza, played by Isabela Merced. “Turtles All The Way Down” will be available to stream on May 2, 2024, on MAX.

I already loved Cree's performance in TATWD but now knowing that she also has severe allergies and has had many of the same experiences that I have had, I'm obsessed. The way she talks about having to convince adults it is real is so relatable.

20:20 Fully agree with Cree here, as someone who rly vibes with the book even tho ive not got OCD; but im an autistic ADHDer who has major anxiety and even deal with depression, on top of also bein traumatised growin up... I found a ton in the book that vibed with me and theres parts like "your now is not your forever" which became mantras for me. While my thowts dont spiral the same way, thowt spirals did give me an ability to understand my own brain worms; and to allow myself to personify them as unwanted thowts which are not my own... Not what some part of me rly wanted, which is how the trauma makes it feel

Loved the show game shakers, why did the show end so abruptly though? Also I’m curious to know where Cree sees where the characters are/up to after about 5/6 years? Is she still in touch with the cast of game shakers? These are questions that I would like to be answered somehow 🤔

@@Tykerablue I did get to that point eventually, but the answer wasn’t really satisfying. Just kind of a weird move. Plus it forces people into the awkward position of having to distinguish her from other people named Cree by referring to her as “the Cree with only one name”.

what does this have to do with "deciding to be an icon"? Zendaya also has always gone by Zendaya instead of Zendaya Coleman. It's just a choice of preferred names, that's it. And the discerning people with the same name would happen either way. I don't understand why this seems to be upsetting to you and that's probably also why nobody else is "addressing it" because there is nothing to address.
