I would’ve never considered or thought of Royal Oud as a “F Boy” fragrance. IIRC it was created as a wedding day scent for one of the Royal family members (Prince William maybe?). I definitely see it more as a big event/wedding fragrance. It’s quite an austere & serious thing.

I’m not sure I would like this fragrance but I do enjoy the smell of cedar wood but it would have to be a very photorealistic cedar wood like a cedar chest or furniture I enjoy this but I’m not sure about it in a fragrance I think it would be difficult to wear. I find Tere de Hermes to be too spicy and dry maybe a little sharp if it’s spicy and sharp I probably wouldn’t enjoy it. I do like creeds though they have a special way about them they don’t scream as loud as a lot of other fragrances on the market today. Great review Eugene!!

Future me must've known someone would release a vid on it today because I didn't hesitate picking it out this morning. 🤣 Couple extra sprays on top with that Ministry of Oud clone too. The colour gold always comes to mind when I wear it. One of my favourite woody scents ever. I know what you mean by that masculine energy coming out though. I get that with Polo. In a way, for me it seems to be connected to memories of my father. 💪 A man's man he was.

I tried multiple Creeds (current releases, not first/vintage releases): Bois du Portugal, Green Irish Tweed, Aventus, Aventus Cologne, Viking and many others. Nothing was worth the money. I liked some older Aventus batches, for example 17T01 it was very nice, very natural smelling. Current releases are way overpriced. Smells are rather synthetic and uninspiring. Ah, I forgot - I know Royal Mayfair too. It's masculine, bold, maybe there's nothing wrong with it, but it's missing some refinement. I think I'm not a Creed fanboy simply. This brand is doing just too much of reformulations last years, it's not reliable. I would really like to get sample of Royal Oud though. Not because you said it's fukcboy smell, but just because I don't know it. PS. I don't believe all this "pantydropper" bulls#hit ;)

While I'm not sure which scent I feel is best, French Lover is certainly a nicer wear personally. Feels more balanced in a way, definitely enjoy the greener take, and the wife prefers it, which is a bonus.

Personally I love royal oud. It’s so sophisticated and has a great dry down. And for $570 retail for 100ml, it falls way outside of the Fboy classification. 1 million elixir, Versace Eros, Dior sauvage, would be more akin to a fuck boy fragrance.
