When I was 25 I listened to this song while I realized it wouldn't work anymore in a 5 years realtionship with a girl. Those lyrics pierce thru my heart like nothing else could have done and just started crying on my way to work while driving. I was sad but I think it was also the fact that this song made me realized I had to move on to keep being me. Breaking with someone when there is no betrayal or big incident to ease the breakup is really hard psychologically. This song is epic on so many lvl. I really hope this rumor that creed will make a comeback will come true. Most of their song are about life, no bullshit, no girls or drugs... just something you can rely on in hard time. Yeah Mark Tremonti borrowed this riff from his greatest guitar piece ever produced: "Blackbird" by Alter Bridge. I always have believed Creed/Scott Stapp is a better Songwriter than Myles Kennedy/Alter Bridge, and that remains the case, at least when the bands were more popular. Myles Kennedy met Creed in 1998 on a tour, he had a band called the Mayfield Four and I guess would be considered a pretty huge Creed fan despite the difference between their bands(Same members, different singer, and different producer most of the time under a different record label). Alter Bridge to me is more metal leaning, and Creed is more classic rock and pop music leaning, with a very naturalistic, aesthetic quality few hard rock bands can reproduce.

This song is an absolute masterpiece, the guitarist/co-songwriter/backing vocalist Mark Tremonti's favorite song on the album and perhaps top favorite Creed song.

My Sacrifice, Overcome, inside us al; Wrong Way; On my Sleeve, Away in Silence etc) trazem!

People stay jealous because Scott Stapp is a great lyricist, had great musicians as band mates, a purposeful message in his songs, usually one of faith and God, is handsome, has a gorgeous wife, accumulated wealth, and a beautiful functional loving home. He is successful; despite his own shortcomings - after all he is only a man.

Most true artists are gifted in one way, and yet tormented in another. Scott Stapp, and the members of Creed proved this time and again with songs such as this. While Stapp's behavior away from the studio proved to be misunderstood with his undiagnosed Bipolarism for quite some time. Nonetheless Creed's music will live on, long after they are a mere footnote in what was, one of the greatest super groups of modern rock music. I'd gladly pay most anything to hear them again. Thanks for the memories guys.🤙
