Fogerty said they went on stage many hours after they were supposed to. They followed the Grateful Dead which put everyone to sleep. Said the lighting was bad and he thought the sound was bad. He didn’t want to jeopardize the band’s popularity by releasing the Woodstock footage, but as we can see they sounded fantastic. Probably among the best of all the bands that played Woodstock.

Yes i agree,the Who's Roger Daltry said they were the best performing band at Woodstock. Most of the performers there were high on one thing or another. Ccr were drug free.

Over the years, I've wondered what really happened, there are theories about it, one is that John Fogerty asked to be left off the album and the film because they hadn't played well, and because the sound was bad. Another theory was that he wasn't very sympathetic to the whole hippie thing.

I lived in an area with no FM radio. Always heard the edited version of I Heard It Through the Grapevine. Heard the long version at a party when I was in high school. Couldn’t listen to the edited version after that. Thank goodness for FM radio.

Great times in central Queensland, Aus. Ripper music, no breath tests, no bras, no AIDs, CCR, Mullumbimby madness and I just bought a Honda 750 KO/4. Memorable times indeed and I still belt out CCR! We were very lucky and my 3 daughters as well, as they were bought up on decent music.

Some one posted here and I saw it before, read it in Johns book , fortunate son, that he thought the sound was bad and lighting and he didn't give permission for the film to use them. At the end of this clip you can hear him mention that there was " a multitude of problems"

To the annoyance of the rest of the band John wouldn't allow their performance to be used in the Woodstock film. The Grateful Dead went way long in their set, pushing back CCR's performance to about 3 am when most of the audience was asleep. Because of the late hour and the lack of audience response, John felt their performance was not up to their normal standard but they sound pretty great to me.

I remember hearing the song by Led Zepp " In My Time of Dyin " during my drug years and made me think about death and Jesus. Then a hippy friend that dug Jesus told me more of Jesus love and forgiveness and how I could also know Jesus love. So in 1981 I cried out to Jesus and wow man He came into my life and I had and have so much joy and peace and now know that through Jesus when I die I will be with Him in Heaven. Hard to determine if JA were stoned or just exhausted. They were scheduled to close the show on the second night, but they were so ridiculously behind schedule that they didn't even get on stage until early the next morning. They were up all night long and never got to sleep at all prior to their performance.

I'm guessing the audio source is the audio of the woodstock set, as the video is actually them doing Born on the Bayou at Woodstock with the audio replaced. They did play Green River as the second track but I don't think any official video footage of it exists (it's certainly not on the Woodstock Blu-ray, Born on the Boyou, I Put A Spell On You & Keep On Chooglin' is on the extra features).

This is terrible, resembles a music video, but where the artist is playing some completely different song. Like lipsync, but whoever put this together knows nothing about music. So nice uhhh random video placed with a random recording. I own woodstock69 on disc, the directors of the project did not use footage that does not match and or sync the performance, as that would be .... Crappy, like this (microsoft office video compilation). Remember when this was made (1969) the film and the audio were totally different tracks and files, so you here have edited 1969 material and destroyed the sync, and continuity. Not even John fogerty wants to see john fogerty in slow motion.
