We had just moved to Oakland and my dad worked near the studio CCR called "Cosmos Factory" after Doug Clifford their drummer, where they recorded this album. My dad heard about it and my god the sounds that came out of that little record player kept me going in dreary and wet Oakland. I would play that album all day long. John is singing with his kids on KZbin now in quarantine. Telling stories about his life. His story about following the Grateful Dead at Woodstock was halarious!!! “Have you ever seen the rain” is my fav song of CCR.

As much as I enjoyed CCR growing up, it always mystified me how a band from San Francisco adopted a bayou sound.
@mediumvillain9 ай бұрын
They listened to the blues. It's not a "bayou sound" its blues/rock n roll. They made an album called Bayou Country and the song from it, Born on the Bayou, which were inspired by old blues like Muddy Waters.

I've seen CCR and John Fogerty more times in concert than any other band. Also, one of my favorite shows was the "John John Tour". Fogerty and Mellencamp; a great pairing, and great concert.

I just want to say that when I was a teenager then; long hair, tight tie-dye T-shirts and blue jeans with 3" belts; obscene coloured bell-bottomed trousers and every time CCR came on the radio then we would stampede to the record shop to get it. There were many bands back then that we simply could not get enough of - fantastic music (now being dubbed genres). Alas, it took this generation all these years to find out that there was a mountainous history load of great music and some with messages for us then which fell on deaf ears then and even today. What an extraordinary musical era it was for bands then. I am happy that I was there and that I'm now 69 y-o. Anyone out there dressed the same back then?

Jamel, I consider myself a ccr expert , before grapevine , their first single was suzie q and I put a spell on you. Most listeners thought it was singer was black from Louisiana. John forgery voice is timeless and his guitar playing is out of this world. He is actually on board of directors of the rock and roll hall of fame. Please listen to more his music! Bayou country is best record along with green river. Unfortunately he did not get along with his brother after he left the band. While another story!! Keep rockin
