@@bunburychic9755 It was the feeling in the 60's and 70's. And the music , influenced by Vietnam, free love, the revolution, and rebellion, helped us feel free. That's what the hair and clothes were about, a symbol of rebellion against the establishment and authority. We wanted to be different to the staid, stitched up 50's. Now that I am in my 60's, I undrstand why the 50's happened that way. After WW2, they wanted stability and predictability, to feel safe. I feel very lucky to have experienced the whole era .

@Kurt Staeuble welcome to an unexpectedly very special place. Music lover or casual listener. Young or old. One Jamal video or binged-out. You will leave smiling, often with a lump in your throat & your eyes “sweating” as well. Come for a man”s reaction, leave with memories stirred/new memories made. Jamel is so genuine and honest. That in itself makes this such a unique place. As a bonus, you will find civility, encouragement & a lot of positivity from folks posting here. A lot of music knowledge is enthusiastically shared by others here, all the time. I don’t really know how to explain it, but stick around. You’ll feel what I mean! Enjoy the journey you probably didn’t realize you’d be taking! Happened to me for sure!!

You keep doing it Jamel, you continue to go deeper into the well and pull out real gems out of the vault. Every time I think you've come up with the ultimate reaction you pull another one out. Kudos to you. This song brings back so many memories for me, but the one I cling to, the one that brings absolute joy and tears to my eyes is when I remember my dad purchasing this album "Cosmos Factory" and playing it on our simple little record player. We had just moved to Oakland and my dad worked near the studio CCR called "Cosmos Factory" after Doug Clifford their drummer, where they recorded this album. My dad heard about it and my god the sounds that came out of that little record player kept me going in dreary and wet Oakland. I would play that album all day long. Thank you for bringing back such a joyous memory. The guitar solo by John Fogerty was the first real guitar solo I ever heard that I never forgot. Great job.

This song has sounded good by everyone I’ve ever heard record it. It’s truly a masterpiece. The performer can make it their own and it’s still the same song, you can’t say that about a lot of good music, sometimes the performance makes the song and sometimes it’s the other way around. Give it to these boys and ya know it’s gonna be a for-real good time.

In the late 50s-60s I had my transistor radio (grandma bought me a new one each yr for my birthdays) under my pillow every nite to listen to Wolfman Jack, out of Del Rio Texas. CCR, DOOBIES all nite long. Some gave me the willies but I listened anyway. Then it was tuned to WLS-50,000 watts out of Chicago.

There was two versions of this: the LP version that we just heard, and then the "Radio Play" or Single (45) version that Did end at the half way mark, it faded out after the vocals ended. I heard the radio version first obviously but didn't know this long Jam session version existed until we got the album. I just want to say that when I was a teenager then; long hair, tight tie-dye T-shirts and blue jeans with 3" belts; obscene coloured bell-bottomed trousers and every time CCR came on the radio then we would stampede to the record shop to get it. There were many bands back then that we simply could not get enough of - fantastic music (now being dubbed genres). Alas, it took this generation all these years to find out that there was a mountainous history load of great music and some with messages for us then which fell on deaf ears then and even today. What an extraordinary musical era it was for bands then. I am happy that I was there and that I'm now 69 y-o. Anyone out there dressed the same back then?
