"Long as I Can See the Light" is taken from CCR's legendary fifth studio album, Cosmo's Factory. Stream now or pre-order the 50th anniversary half-speed mastered vinyl: found.ee/ccr-cosmosfactory-r
We’re honored to unveil this special fan-generated video for the beloved Cosmo’s Factory closer, “Long as I Can See the Light.” In the lead-up to Father’s Day 2020, Creedence fans worldwide were encouraged to submit videos and photos documenting cherished memories with their fathers, grandfathers or other guiding lights in their life. Warm thanks for all the incredibly moving fan contributions.
The tradition of musical inheritance is strong among CCR appreciators: The band’s timeless albums have been proudly passed down from generation to generation. Music’s capacity to draw people together is more important now than ever, so while many may be unable to be physically near their loved ones this Father’s Day, the hope is that this video will help remind families just how deeply they’re connected.
One of many hits on Cosmo’s Factory "Long as I Can See the Light" was released in 1970 as part of a double A-side single with "Lookin’ out My Back Door.” Both songs peaked at number two in the U.S., and despite Creedence having never played “Long as I Can See the Light” live, it became a fan favorite. Over the years, the song has taken on different meanings, but John Fogerty has stated that the song is "about the loner in me. Wanting to feel understood, needing those at home to shine a light so that I can make my way back."
Commemorating the 50th anniversary of Cosmo’s Factory this summer, Craft Recordings is issuing a half-speed master edition of the album, pressed on 180-gram vinyl and set for release on August 14th. The album was mastered at half speed by the award-winning engineer Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios. Available for pre-order now, this audiophile edition of Cosmo’s Factory comes housed in a tip-on jacket, replicating the original packaging.

Sending comfort during this difficult time. So sorry for your family's loss. I truly believe being there in the end is the last gift our parents give us and the last gift we are able to give to them. We lost our sweet Dad unexpectedly on May 7th and as difficult as it was, I would never change not being by his side when he left earth. Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's in heaven. We will always keep the light on for you.

I wanted to meet him at the airport but he wouldn't let me..jerks threw coke, piss, tomatoes..any thing they could find not to mention cursing him. So to all those brave Soldiers: thank you for OUR FREEDOM❤️, and to the ones that disrespect freedom go somewhere else! They are both in Heaven now, and it's my husband's Birthday..💋💋💔 HAPPY BIRTHDAY DARLING! WE MISS YOU🌹 THANK YOU TO ALL OUR BRAVE SOLDIERS❤️❤️❤️

What a beautiul song. The refrain phrase 'long as I can see the light' is packed with so much power, magic, spiritual feel, and a great sense of comfort to boot, is pure beauty and art. John knows how to convey the feeling to his words like no other. Less thatn 4 years of greatness. Music, absolute greatness.

My wife's in labour man. I left her at the hospital this morning, couldn't even kiss her goodbye cause the guards threw me out the door. She texted me earlier...she's in pain. Usually we share everything mate, we've been together since the times we had nothing, we were both poor and together we rose to a more-than-decent living. There were times when I had the munchies for a bloody pear and couldn't afford one so she'd say "nah, I don't need this go get yourself that pear hon'" cause that's how amazing she is. Wish she could share the pain with me now, but I can't even be there with her and I'll see my son in pictures.

My husband passed away Oct 2023. He had a very sad childhood. He always had the deepest eyes and now when I look back and know it was because he could see the light! Only a few songs make me cry like this one does. Love you and miss you everyday. Thank you for choosing me.

This song reminds me of my dad who passed away unexpectedly 2 years ago. He had great taste in music. I grew up with all the best. All the 45's and albums I ruined as a kid. Lol. I turned my dad onto a few great bands too. He loved ccr. Also the old stones, and pink Floyd dark side of the moon. Great taste. And I got him into zeppelin, AC/DC, guns n roses, queen. So needless to say there was always some sort of great music playing on our beautiful stereo system. Music really brings people together. My dad brought me into songs like this. Thank God for that❤

This song was a huge part of my childhood and because of my biological fathers abuse, I couldn’t listen to any ccr song for a while. As I’ve grown I’ve learned to love this song and try and think of only the good memories I had of him and this song. He may be a terrible person but I won’t let him ruin an amazing song/band for me.

(PS the FIRST concert that I ever saw in Omaha NE was CCR after their little opening band, Steppenwolf. I was doomed from that night forward, I play the drums and live in Taos New Mexico, making art and people smile...and dance. Did I mention that I play the drums..........? Thanks again.
