Intermittent Fasting (IF) isn't a very uncommon practice now days. One Meal A Day (OMAL) is just one of the many variants of IF, albeit a difficult one to manage for most, but it is one of the most rewarding, due to the longer periods of fasting between meals (in this case, one). Fasting has many benefits, such as reducing body inflammation and promoting ketosis for weight-loss. I don't know how one manages working out effectively on OMAL, I know that when athletes attempt it they will usually supplement lean protein in-between a much larger, single-meal during the day. Whenever I've personally partaken in IF it's always been a less extreme variant, such as 16:8 (a 16 hour window of fasting, and an 8 hour window for eating) or 18:6 (a 18 hour window of fasting, and a 6 hour window for eating). I do struggle keeping with the regimen simply because the eating window is never large enough to include all three meals in the day, so breakfast typically ends up getting the short-end of the stick, which sucks.

@@Charlie-im6qo Doesn't sound like IF. She is eating a very small meal . One meal a day is usually about getting enough calories as well. Chicken nuggets and fries are not enough calories for body weight/muscle maintenance. She also said her weight fluctuates all the time. A constantly fluctuating weight can cause a lot of stress on your body. Look up a study titled "Body-Weight Fluctuation Was Associated With Increased Risk for Cardiovascular Disease" . This is not intermittent fasting.
