This is geniuenly horrifying, especially as someone who suffers from mental illness. While I don't often get visual hallucinations, I can draw some serious parallels to the way he describes slowly being unable to tell his hallucinations apart from reality. I often suffer the same thing with over thinking, it could be so simple as being out in public in something I don't like. It'll feel like the whole world is starring at me, noticing how uncomfortable I am, and how out of place I feel, when in reality literally no one is even paying attention to what I'm wearing.

My interpretation for the ending is that, the narrator was being kept by the company to hunt for the few “bees” while hoping he would be able to find the “hive.” He eventually did which explains why the medical workers had terror on their faces while Theresa & the soldiers gave maniacal grins upon seeing the sheer hugeness of the mother lode that was uncovered with OP as the bait. It was going to be a huge payday for anybody who wasn’t OP and a chance for Theresa to climb up the company ladder, and they don’t have to pay a huge amount to OP as he was supposed to die from that raid. But This was geniusly written as another interpretation can be derived where all of them were led into a trap by the entities & everybody, except OP died after being driven into malevolent madness. OP did mention that they were led into a trap but that can only be his conclusion as he was an emotional and mental mess.

Really late answer. Doesn't seem that way. Remember it took a bit for them to answer him, he found the anomaly outside where the team was, and their eyes were glowing blue. Seems more like they tricked them into thinking they were inside. And went after the team killing and replacing them. So whoever employed them wrote the entire team off as a complete loss.

Now that I know that Saturdead's stories are in a shared universe, I now wonder how connected they are. It makes me think of Steven King's Dark Tower series + his other works. I have dreams about mimics all the time, and I haven't even played any of the games they're commonly featured in. Usually in my dream, they appear as my pets (or the pets of other people I know.) Most commonly dogs. I always have to figure out which ones are real, and which ones are the fakes, sometimes having to shoot the fakes. This situation used to give me the absolute worst nightmares... until I got better at lucid dreaming, and also developed better ways of telling them apart. I taught each of my dogs IRL a unique trick, skill or reaction. Now when this happens in a dream, I'll give the command for those reactions, and easily figure out who is who. The most recent occurrence was downright hysterical. One was trying to mimic my oldest dog, even matching the old lady sweater she wears. I stuck out my leg and made a certain tune, and my real dog started trying to hump my leg. The mimic wore the perfect "WTF" expression and was promptly kicked out.
@impishlyit97802 жыл бұрын
I have this, but with people, usually close family. The way I always tell them apart is the creepy high-pitched voice when I insist they speak, and they often try to avoid speaking to not give themselves away. I also usually wake up in a blind panic after I realize, sometimes I can't even scream in them. It sucks. Edit: Wanted to add that I'm planning a horror game about this idea, and would love any cool ideas if anyone has them.

🇬🇧 Oh that was really enjoyable! Ive always been intrigued by Pareidolia! I see things that arent really there but im always able to differenciate between whats really there & what is just Pareidolia! Its like putting on specs & seeing the patterns & images of P. Then taking off the specs & its all just " normal" again. Its great really & amuses me no end. I always have a sketch book & pencils with me when im out & sketch what i see as P. & get some brilliant ideas for paintings Its essential to know the difference! Some people i know just cannot see things in shapes & forms that suggest something else, even the easiest of all, finding faces & objects in the clouds overhead! Then others are convinced that the P. They see is real & that its spirits or ghosts etc Which it isnt but i also think its how places get the reputation of being haunted etc. Im not saying that maybe spirits or entities dont exist Im sure many places hold residual energies that can manifest in certain conditions. But ive never thought of Pareidolia as any thing but an interpretation of what our eyes are trained to recognise & send a message to the brain that theres something there, in the shadows or light & dark shades which Coalesce into something that our brain is conditioned to recognise Especially faces ! I think its great fun to allow your eyes to pick out shapes & translate them into something tangible! Anyway, it was a super story & quite different, read by yourself With your gentle unique style Thank you Regards 🇬🇧👧
