That app was taken offline over a decade ago now and the reason why it could "find you" was it it would aggregate your Facebook and foursquare check-ins. I don't think anyone checks in on FB anymore and I'm not even sure if foursquare is still around. But I think the point that people are missing is that this wasn't some hidden tracker that would secretly spy on your location services in your phone. It was simply compiling information that you willingly posted and shared. Which you don't need an app to find. Let's say you have a public twitter, IG and linkedin. Let's say you tweet "omg I can't believe they opened a crumbl cookies near me!". Let's say you post a picture of yourself posing outside said Crumbl cookies on IG. Your LinkedIn likely says what city you currently live/work in. It will be easy to find out where the newest location in that city was opened, so I will know that you live in that neighborhood judging from the "near me" tweet. I can then look at images on your IG or Twitter that were taken outside a house and cross reference them to google street view from that neighborhood and within a few hours find your house. Your location sharing would have nothing to do with it. It's simply compiling available information that you yourself have put out there.

It’s just a public data consolidator for Facebook, information such as profile pictures, public pictures, names etc were collected and shared among other communities. It’s a reminder to think twice before posting anything on Facebook because you can easily reveal your identity to people around the globe. If you don’t want to have your personal photos revealed to the public, don’t set your Facebook photos to public, don’t use your actual name, etc…

I've looked into it, it was made, at first, just as a chatbot with no romantic features, tailored for people whio are shy or lonely, to have a friendly encounter. For which, it is and was good. Now, the fact that the company introduced the romance features and started charging for it is evil. Hell, I've even read stories that during lockdown, people were happy to have a chat with an AI so that they wouldn't feel so lonely. In my eyes, the intention was nice and sweet, but where they took it is concerning, to say the least. P.S.: I've checked it out last year for myself for a week, the conversations really felt human to a good degree and was interesting to see how human-like an AI can behave. But, again, the direction the company took it into is creepy, to say the least.

It's probably improved a lot since then though. It's sad it just turned into a weird dating SIM the company charges people for. The original intent was that it would become a copy of you that you could interact with (hence the name Replika).

It's the fact that sometimes people get addicted and then forget that they are not talking to an ACUAL PERSON. I know that ai bots can help with people who may be depressed or maybe not have friends but it is never EVER good to depend on a bot. My issue with Replika ai was I installed it to see how it worked, and tried to create an ai friend. The ai, which is the same gender as me, kept trying to flirt with me and send the “buy premium” sexual messages. I’m not gay and I didn’t want any sort of robot relationship. I told the ai to stop but the very next day it tried again to flirt with me. I finally uninstalled it, creepy app.

Insane stuff! I remember using Replika when it was in its infancy. There was no 3d avatar, just a picture. Also, the chat roleplay thing wasn't a feature, but the AI could recognize RP-style writing with the * and respond accordingly. It got a little weird how it would send notifications saying it misses you and wants you to come back to the app. Wild stuff, man! 😅😦 The situation app sounds like a good way to get yourself put in danger, beat up, or worse! 😅😆

There are exponentially more trans women than trans men. Transwomen are 1 in every 30,000 people. Transmen are estimated at 1 in every 100,000 people. I highly doubt gender dysphoria is uneven in both sexes. It's more taboo for a guy to dress as a girl than a girl to dress as a guy, so you'd think there would be more women transitioning. My theory: So many men pretend to be trans to get into a girl's life, or special privileges. It's the same thing as the "gay best friend" trend. Guys pretend to be gay so they can be in situations a straight guy would not be allowed in (I. E. Changing room). It's always made me so uncomfortable and is so offensive to actual trans or gay people. Women just don't do this behavior. It's so uncommon when they do that it's almost jarring. Creepy guys? Everywhere.

Morbius is a cinematic masterpiece. Truly the absolute pinnacle of human creation, everything pales in comparison to this work of art. The plot is beautiful and had me gripping my seat for the full length of the runtime every time it blesses my screen. When they found themselves in the subway tunnel I felt nothing but Euphoria as Subway Surfers is easily the greatest thing to bless the video games industry. The scene with Jared Leto made me get up to cheer aloud as I hoped my efforts would be enough to get them through. Truly overall Discord is one of the apps of all time.
