Some people call this petty or mean but tbh theyre making use of the situation giving them traction and using material they own (which people rewatch all the time anyway) so i really dont see the issue, even if im not huge on buzzfeed in general. Also, hate to admit it but the watcher ghost hunting stuff always felt a lot less genuine and fun (they lost me with the fan submissions tbh and the overproduced everything just made it feel so much less...personal?). AND their patreon wasn’t enough for them, thanked you tube and their fans and said we will no longer be able to see anything until we pay a 5.99/ mo subscription to their other patron… then issued an apology for saying anyone can afford it, and leaving the fans that got them where they are today. Also issuing refunds for people who were pissed that they decided to leave YT, saying they don’t wanna follow their restrictions. It was done in poor taste, so it’s nice to see these old Videos the ones we loved, for free. It makes me sad because I expected so much more from that channel.. instead it’s so bad, and now they just lost about 100k subs because of it
