And that’s been a lesson in silhouettes, and why an artist really needs to make their characters recognisable from how they look as shadows, which in my opinion Viv dose fantastically.

@@ieuansmith518 it's called sketch art... I mean this specific art made the same impact as being recognizable. As soon as I saw the pic I knew which comic it was from. Honestly, the artist might have initially drawn the episodes as print layout comic pages and then converted them into the line webtoon format, but didn't account for thr fact that one line webtoon episode is equivalent to multiple print page layouts. It's a smart idea to start with the page layout for print because it ensures if you want to ever print and sell, you don't have to work with unusable layouts and shitty resolution made for screen. But it also takes longer to then convert the pages to the web format after drawing. It's the method I plan on using for my upcoming webcomic.

I feel like art wise theyre trying really hard to make Jeff like Alastor from Hazbin Hotel based on head and face proportions. Which isnt inherently bad to be inspired by, but it is when you notice it and that if you swapped two the personality given to Jeff is Alastors. And then it becomes more apparent Jeff doesn't have much personality. If they set it up so Jeff started to like her because she was almost stupid levels oblivious but nice to him it wouldn't be perfect but would be somewhat reasonable to say he catches feelings for the first person to show him kindness. Also i feel like the comedic less detailed drawings while meant to be funny diminishes whatever tone we're supposed to have. It tells an audience "oh we're not supposed to take this seriously" and that becomes the expected pace which i feel like wasnt the intent.
@Ratatra Жыл бұрын
Alastor has great character design, but I don’t really know how I feel about Jeff… 😅
@taylort3674 Жыл бұрын
@@Ratatra id say agree to disagree on that. Imo Alastor does in a vacuum when his time period and most of his given backstory aren't a thing by character design standards because they dont strongly correlate when they should. He doesnt dress like his time period, his antlers are so small theyre not super noticeable. Jeff has the elements from the original image and story he was created from save for the cuts on sides of his mouth, and giving him an axe instead of a knife however most people do recognize the overall look the original image gave people of white skin, white hoodie, black hair, black pants. Basically in a vacuum maybe? But judged on character design standards regarding what theyre supposed to be designed after (Jeff and source material vs Alastors backstory and character details) Jeffs got more going for him in that department. The only thing hes missing is some scars on the cheek, skin graft and brun scars.
@Ratatra Жыл бұрын
@@taylort3674 what I mean is I prefer the character idea of a radio demon rather than a creepy guy, both are great, well thought out characters. ✨ I do think some of Alastors personality traits are overused. Idk… Jeff has more originality in that way.

I get what you're saying, but I find it highly unrealistic for someone like Jeff to be falling for someone who offered him kindness, solely because he's _devoid_ of kindness. It could work if Jeff was still a teenager and is going through things. It won't work now that he's an adult (?) that's already snapped and has no thought of empathy, neither does he care about empathy (I mean he's a serial killer). It's like attempting to fix the Joker - Any person who actually knows how to empathize and actually give people proper kindness will know there's no plausible way of showing these people kindness unless it's as twisted as them.

as an artist the art isnt the worst it could possibly be, but it also isnt great. Its very clear this artist favours drawing/detailing her self insert/her fanmade version of Jeff more then anything else. Which is really sad because I can see she has very good talent with drawing characters, and even the drawing of the house was very impressive. But some panels are so very rushed and lazy. Like the asylum in the first shot, just looks like a very rushed drawing. The chicken is also very rushed, it's literally just a sphere with wings. They also seem very confused with the color scheme, often going from straight black/white, black/white with a single color added, or full color. They definitely have capabilities as an artist but this webtoon would not be a very good example of it IMO.

i rlly like the "Jeff Woods The Killer" Webtoon, it has amazing art and the "Bl" parts are, well, they are there but, few and far between, its more focussed on telling the original Jeff the killer story and i think it has a real charm to it ^_^

As a character designer/artist, I must say that the art is fairly what you would see in a high school art classroom. The art is simple and lazy, making it classified as just a sketch. While some sketches can be highly detailed and nice to look at, you start finding these types of sketches which are ugly and lazily drawn. One last thing that I noticed is that the characters look similarly close to Vivziepop's characters, which talks for itself.

Author and illustrator here. I've noticed in the comments the "I can fix him!" trope. With my book, it can seem to start like that but really dives deep into the psychological world of the protagonist. No one is trying to "fix" him because nothing he's doing is seen as wrong (yet, at least.) It's the story of a child trying his best to live a good life despite the difficulty. But it's not just that. You have to trust me (it is waaay too long to explain on KZbin comments.) I have provided a sample I one of the chapters. It was a fantastically crafted box. James could tell the moment he laid his fingers on it. “This has to be carved by hand,” he murmured, looking around for a way to open it. A tiny hook, barely visible, was on the edge of the box closest to him. “Oh, there we go,” he said, flicking it open. The inside of the box was a beautiful marbled mix of leather and animal pelts. James wrinkled his nose; he had never liked dead animals. He assumed that Ronald had something to do with it. The collection of taxidermied animals in his room was haunting enough. With the empty house and the previous evening, however, the sight of fur sent chills down his spine. He was not focused on the design of the box, though. Rather the gleam of metal inside. Inside the box lay a hand carved bone. Or, at least, it looked like bone. It wasn't nearly as dull. A metal handle with real leather straps was bound to the hilt of the knife. The blade itself had ridges not unlike that of a bee's stinger or a fish hook. It looked like it would hurt, no, it looked like it would make you beg for death. A beautiful opalite stone was embedded into the base of the handle. "Why opalite though?" James thought. He knew he was trying to distract himself from the reason he had gotten this. He knew it wasn't going to work. If you read this (like at all) thank you so much for giving me your time. Building a "bad guy" protagonist is so much harder than it seems. thank you for coming to my ted talk lol

Okay so I’ve read this multiple times, so i might as well put my opinions and reactions to other peoples comments on this. 1. It’s really 18+ and more romance. However some of the parts of horror are very well done. I dont honestly hate the plot line. 2. Everyone brings up the alastor thing, that was the point. She does explain in one of the episodes that she likes the alastor knock off. Honestly probably one of the better ideas. 3. I really do like this comic and like i said, love the plot but I do not support the author anymore. They had a lot of proof against child fiddling which honestly was sad to see something ruined like that.

A common kind of grass is used to cover the ground in places such as lawns and parks. Grass is usually the color green. That is because they are wind-pollinated rather than insect-pollinated, so they do not have to attract insects. Green is the best colour for photosynthesis. Grasslands such as savannah and prairie where grasses are dominant cover 40.5% of the land area of the Earth, except Greenland and Antarctica.[4] Grasses are monocotyledon herbaceous plants. They include the "grass" of the family Poaceae, which are called grass by ordinary people. This family is also called the Gramineae, and includes some of the sedges (Cyperaceae) and the rushes (Juncaceae).[5] These three families are not very closely related, though all of them belong to clades in the order Poales. They are similar adaptations to a similar life-style. With about 780 genera and about 12,000 species,[3] the Poaceae is the fifth-largest plant family. Only the Asteraceae, Orchidaceae, Fabaceae and Rubiaceae have more species.[6] The true grasses include cereals, bamboo and the grasses of lawns (turf) and grassland. Uses for graminoids include food (as grain, shoots or rhizomes), drink (beer, whisky), pasture for livestock, thatch, paper, fuel, clothing, insulation, construction, sports turf, basket weaving and many others. Many grasses are short, but some grasses can grow tall, such as bamboo. Plants from the grass family can grow in many places and make grasslands, including areas which are very arid or cold. There are several other plants that look similar to grass and are referred to as such, but are not members of the grass family. These plants include rushes, reeds, papyrus and water chestnut. Seagrass is a monocot in the order Alismatales. Grasses are an important food for many animals, such as deer, buffalo, cattle, mice, grasshoppers, caterpillars and many other grazers. Unlike other plants, grasses grow from the bottom, so when animals eat grass they usually do not destroy the part that grows.[7] This is a part of why the plants are successful. Without grass, soil may wash away into rivers (erosion).

writer AND artist here! The art is, as you said, average. It's not terrible by any means but there's definitely a lot better out there. Writing wise, it's a meh at best. The episodes are horrendously short and the plot moves along at what can only be described as a snail's pace. I can't even critique the plot all that thoroughly because of it's length. I think it's possible to take a story such as this and make it good, however the female lead just doesn't have a lot of character, and she's supposed to be integral. That often is the biggest problem when it comes to making more of a self-insert type story, the female lead tries to be transparent to allow for projection, but in the end she's the blandest character. There's nothing all that special about the story, there are a million otheres like it, so in the end it's kind of just...meh
