Passing a Chinatown souvenir shop this afternoon, what do I see: A black tee shirt, with the words, FUCK YOU, YOU FUCKING FUCKS! Oh God I laughed! My husband is from NOLA, and I bet John Goodman can't go anywhere these days without hearing that. Great series, BTW. We love that delicious moment when Crey just lets it all out and rants..!

I finally got the shirt - 'FUCK YOU YOU FUCKING FUCKS'. It's on sale here in NYC (!!) in one of those Chinatown shops. I explained its origin to the gracious Bangladeshi shop owner. And he was Americanized enough to totally get it, then laugh like crazy, along with me...he also threw in a small American flag as 'Bengali lagniappe" when I told him I am a retired ESL teacher. Go, NOLA. Hubby will be there next week on business. We're moving back to New Orleans sometime next year...Love y'all beaucoup.

I am impressed with John Goodman's performance. I knew Ashley Morris a long long long time ago, and watching this brings him back to life for me for just a few minutes.....RIP Ashley....

I've watched every episode of all seasons of Treme twice since the series was originally released. Now, August 2024, due to a paucity of good streaming tv, I've started my third round. As I start again, I am firmly convinced that Treme was/is THE BEST series ever created for tv. What do you want? Good acting? Check. An enthralling story line (based on real events)? Check. Unexcelled sreen writing? Check. Completely endearing and/or exasperating characters? Check. And, oh, last but not least, do you love all music -- not just jazz? Check. Best sound track ever? And Check.

I'm trying to figure out what the people of San Fransisco, Atlanta, New York City and others did to Ashley Morris. A few months after Hurricane Katrina Morris gained fame by blogging rants that made little, if any, sense. He loved his fame and wasted no time during the last two and a half years of his life defaming anything that is not New Orleans. As if the government or the people of San Fransisco or New York are responsible for the cyclone.
