I love how every set of night elf ruins “was once one of the biggest/grandest/most important in some way” night elf city. This could be looked as as a continuity error, but I like to think of it as part of the old night elf elitism. Every thing we make is grand and perfect and wonderful and you should all feel lucky if we so much as look at you. Good old pre-sundering night elves

Small, hidden ruin almost NO ONE seems to know about: If you go to NW Wetlands (Coordinates 36.20, 15.75), and follow that line of hills in from the coast, there's a small hidden grove completely covered by a canopy of trees. Inside, after passing through a fallen log archway, you'll find a shattered gazebo arch, with the head of a Titan Maiden half buried in the ground. No mobs, no quests, just an empty lil spot that's super scenic and has been there since Vanilla. GREAT rp locale for druids, dwarves, archaeologists, etc etc. Check it out!

I'm pretty sure Lordaeron wasn't just a little bigger than Stormwind, but substantially so. Gotta keep in mind that Stormwind isn't just the youngest of the seven human kingdoms, and also completely destroyed in the 1st war, with most of its citizens killed. And I think when you look at what areas belong to the kingdoms, it reflects that as well. Stormwind is essentially Elwynn Forrest, Westfall, Duskwood and Redridge. Lordaeron was Tirisfal, the eastern and western Plaguelands, the Hillsbrad foothills, and the majority of silverpine. Not just are those areas a lot bigger, but they're also home to several huge cities besides Lordaeron City.

I have that same thing when I go to Undercity where I'm like "I really wish I could see how it used to look..." I don't think you could even see a lot of the city prior to Cata, could you? Like, I think a lot of it wasn't really accessible without flying... For so long my only experience of it was just walking through the entryway to the throne room and then into the elevator down, but like... There is sooooo much above ground too over the walls...

I am surprised there were no mogu ruins in the video. The Ruins of Dojan in the Krasarang Wilds have a whole fountain of youth! The ruins in the Jade Forest are also interesting. As you venture into Pandaria for the first time, you don't know what mogu are, and the ruins make you realize the land has a more sinister history to it. The Isle of Thunder is basically a giant mogu ruin place. It had a lot of activity when we went there, but it was abandoned for thousands of years. And it used to be a whole mountain before the Sundering! The Mogu'shan Vaults are very mysterious ruins. And I think it is striking how they are built on the mountain side.

I love ruins in WoW generally. I loved exploring them and occasionally finding treasure chests because no one would ever take the time to comb through them. Azshara for instance, before and after Cataclysm. Naga-infested and foreboding ruins that would occasionally yield phat loot. In fact, I have found treasure chests in those very ruins in Azshara you showed off, before and after Cataclysm.

Green Mist in Emerald zone instead of fog. And all these ruins had great early questing. I also loved Azshara pre-Cata. (Vanilla player here). Also I love the aesthetics of Vash'jir. Twilight Highlands is woefully underappreciated. I recently let my sub run out(yesterday), in part because there's not much to do, in large part due to my yearning to see Azeroth as it was grew too great for me to bear. I want to see the world pre-Sundering, explore the vast Night Elf empire and see its splendor. I want to see the world before the Dark Portal's opening, walk the streets of the original Stormwind, Stromguarde and Alterac. I want to wander Lordaeron before the coming of the Scourge and Horde, and gaze upon its majesty. I love the many fantastic places we have in WarCraft that I can explore and visit. Boralus, Suramar, Draenor, The Broken Isles, the island nations of Kul'Tiras and Zandalar, and all the rest greatly please me. But the ruins tell of a grander story that I can only dream of, and that makes me a little sad.

Huh, I'm kind of surprised you didn't add the Night Elf ruins from Nazjatar since you gave Vashj'ir the first place. Also isn't it funny how the Highborne were this elite of the Night Elf Empire, but they had so many cities? And the descendants of JUST the Highborne became three separate sociates (High/Blood elves of Quel'thalas, Nightborn of Suramar, and the Naga... and also the Satyr but those guys don't exactly have a society) that could rival the descendants of "normal" Night Elves? It feels like this "elite" formed like 90% of their society xD Although I suppose it emphasizes just how big the Night Elf Empire was before the Sundering... and how many "normal" Night Elves had died during the War of the Ancients.

considering that the worgen are going to retake gilneas (finally, good for them), i think they are at some point going to update lordaeron, because the undercity is not inhabitable, not even for the forsaken, anymore, so i think they're gonna update the "upper" city of lordaeron and rebuild some of it to be the new forsaken capital ... at least i hope so, what with the recent "we are new lordaeron" stuff. maybe it'll happen when blizzard give us a new and improved quel'thalas, which is supposedly going to be bigger than it currently is, which would have some sort of effect on the surrounding areas.
