The quillboar on Exile's Reach are necromancers because they were forced into it by the ogres, who are also necromancers. These ogres aim to sacrifice a large number of souls to resurrect a dragon that will serve them. So, that's why the quillboar are using necromantic magic.

@@MatthewTheWanderer Troff and his hippo friend Scoff are basically guarding the boss doors. They are basically standing on a scale with the key being on Troffs side. In order to reach it, you must feed Scoff a selected bunch of bananas, so that he becomes heavier and pushes Troff up to the key.

Fun fact. There was a player on vanilla old server roleplaying a Quilboar (he was a tauren druid) and he baited players into quilboar packs to kill them (and he run away).
