Are there any other ways to hide the dark blue surface pulled from the skeleton model? I don't want to use a copy geometry because I want the solidify to still be driven by the external reference from the skeleton. When I use the solidify command on the copy geometry from the skeleton, all of my parts retain the dark blue surface covering them. I have tried hiding all in the layer tree as well as hiding the copy geometry line item in the model tree with no success. Any recommendations?

Have you tried changing the color of the objects? That seems like a bad reason not to use Copy Geometry. Although honestly I can’t recall experiencing the same problem, but maybe I’ve never noticed it (or just changed the color).

Hello. Once I finish to model the part and I want to remove all the quilts (I want to remove also the copied geometry, not only hide it), the only way is with the command REMOVE SURFACE? Thanks

Why would you want to do that?

@@CADPLMGuy Generally every time I copy geometry from another parte, once I used it I remove instead of hide it (I learned this in solidworks, where it is better to remove external geometry)

@@robertodalessandro753 That's not a recommended technique in Creo Parametric. You can set the Copy Geometry to Manual Update or No Dependency. Designing with External References is a really powerful capability in Creo Parametric, and you're better off using Update Control rather than trying to break references completely. I have a video on the Remove tool. It doesn't do what you think it does.

So I have a simple question. Once you've completed making the part referencing your copy geometry, do you then hide your copy geometry? Or is that not necessary?

That's a personal preference. I use Layers to manage their display. How you do it is up to you.
