A lot of slaves came from Nigeria. So some carribean food and some of their language like pashto is influenced by Nigerian food and languages

Man this looks unreal. I worked in Baton Rouge for a few months last year & became obsessed with the food. I do door to door so tons of clients gave me some food. So many mommas and grandmas that introduced me to loads of new foods. Jumbalaya, Gumbo, crawfish & more. Loved my time down there

My step dad, liked Jumbalaya, but my mother has Polish ancestry, and she liked cabbage. We came up with a family recipe that is essentially Jumbalaya, substituting Cabbage for Rice, and adding a few other things that came out very very nice.
