As an Indonesian, I can relate with many of the Moro tribes' food. Examples are Odang (udang), gulai, randang (rendang), piyanggang (panggang) etc. Its also unique that Indonesia is a heavily Muslim country and Philippines is a heavily Christian country, however the Indonesian provinces near the Philippines are mainly Christian while the Filipino areas near Indonesia are historically Muslim.

Historically, southern Philippines was Hinduism dominant. The whole Philippines rather and so was Indonesia.

i am amazed when the word such as carabao (water buffalo) -Kerbau in Malay Language..Gulai (gravy)..Udang (Prawn)
@thornados4969
@thornados4969 4 жыл бұрын
carabao is originally directly borrowed from the same spanish word carabao. The filipino word is 'kalabaw' and the southern region including the mindanao calls it 'kabaw'. Vegetable : Gulay (northern philippines) , Utan (southern philippines) : Prawn : Ulang (northern philippines), pasayan (southern philippines). The guy in the video used the filipino words adapted from north dialect instead of his local dialect.

@@thornados4969 I dont think so borrow from Spanish. Kalabaw or commonly call in Borneo Island Karabau. People of Borneo also call chicken manok, Gulay or Gulai when dishes are prepared, Ulang or Udang we call here. I believe Pilipino live in southern part use to speak Malay but being engulf or swollen up by Tagalog due to National language or majority daily speaking. @@Ukit50 tagalog is actually bornean/javanese. Manila was bruneian city when rajah ahmad (sultan ahmad) conquered it from madjapahit and deposed avirjirkaya. The oldest document from luzon, the laguna copperplate is old malay. Philippine luzon, lucoes were active in the defense of aceh and sumatra. When the Philippines fell to the spanish after brunei was defeated.. the philippines was closed to the rest of southeast asia. That is why our languages changed so much from its old malay origin.

@@markv1974 Tagalog is not Bornean nor Javanese, lol. language-wise, it's part of the Central Philippine family, along with Hiligaynon, Binisaya (Cebuano) and Tausug. only the ruling classes of states like Tondo and Maynila were related by blood with Bruneians. culturally though, yes, the Tagalogs (and most of the lowlanders like Kapampangans, Surigaonons, Visayans, etc.) were very much intertwined with Southeast Asia, specially with what are now the countries of Malaysia, Indonesia, and Brunei.

@@maharlikanaonkudarat7928 I know you hate Arabs and you imagine there are some Arab people who made Abu Sayyaf These are delusions... you accuse the Arabs of fabricated malicious charges Abu Sayyaf is an armed jihadist movement that originally came from the split from the Moro Islamic Front and the same Moro parties that came as a reaction to oppression, racism and the war of Islam in the southern Philippines, especially some regions of Mindanao and the neighboring islands, including Macatan. Called the Philippines (Philippines, the islands of the Spanish King Philip) The Abu Sayyaf movement later allowed some Arab fighters to organize for it, be it ten or twenty people The Abu Sayyaf movement is not racist, but it has nothing to do with the Arabs, except that the Arabs who love jihad love the Abu Sayyaf group In general, let's say five rich Arab persons cannot give money to the Abu Sayyaf front because Arab countries apply American and Israeli laws in combating so-called terrorism, which is intended to combat the duty of jihad in Islam. In fact, combating terrorism is fighting Islam.

@@user-nz7si2cu6w no, not just southern. Spainards don't like muslims, they met them in africa, europe. So when spainards came to Pilipinas, they recognized the muslims easily, and they did a good job of erasing their identity, history, etc. As I know it, Panay was rich with muslim paraphernalia. Raja Suleyman was a muslim who lived in Manila, Manila, is not south, it is the north. Manila itself comes from the now distorted, hidden, forgotten name of "Fi-amaniilla" which literally in Arabic means "Under the protection of Allah". Arabic and Allah are components tied to islam. As such, islam was more than than southern Pilipinas. There even muslims in Cebu too. Yes, not every inhabitant of the 7,000 islands of Pilipinas today was a muslim, but it had a more diverse geographic habitation than you claimed incorrectly. Peace...

It's sad Philippines can't go back to this culture and change its name to Maharlika instead. Greetings from Luzon! P.s. The music is kind of inaccurate. It is Indian music, with Indian instruments. In the book of Deuteronomy, it says to not eat fish that has no scales. Right? Why do they have eel on their menu at the restaurant in this video?

Kuran is our way of life, not bible or tora. If the Kuran said to not do it, and they did it, then that means they are not practicing it properly, that's what it means. Not hard to conclude, right?

@@maharlikanaonkudarat7928 So if it is not hard to conclude and I could not conclude it that means you found someone dumber than you. Contratulations! How often do you imply that people are stupid on the internet? Why? Many people are afraid of participating on the internet because of compentitive venomous people like you. I know I am afraid. Try to be nice and make the world a better place. It is not important to crow about how smart you are.

Towards the end of the video, the soundtract is noticeably from the distant land of the mughals and definitely not down south....... the host could have done a better job at featuring our muslim brothers food but it looks like he's too in a hurry to get out of the place.
