Thank you for this. The outside crescent kick is used in Chen Taijiquan, but coming from Shorinji Kempo where it is not used, I was struggling. Beautiful clear explanation and awe-inspiring form. Again, thank you.🙏

My specialty in take kwon do days was an outside crescent kick from the front leg.

I clicked to here quicker than Elmer Fudd studying Bugs Bunny... On numerous kicks, not jumping, I noticed the ball of the foot is off-balance but definitely not the OSU chant with it. Then on jumping, I noticed not an Identity Return to the ground. This reminds me of half-repping and other mistakes in #Powerbodybuilding.

This is cool, but it is an anatomical fact that men jump better than women because of the center of gravity, and the weight in the hip/thigh area, so to speak. We definitely have strong thighs, and I've been pushed into a wall by a woman in class. I told her to pretend I was her ex husband; I will never do that again!!!! I didn't say we couldn't do jump kicks, but it's harder to get that kind of height, and torque. They tend to be lower, unless you have absolutely no curves, at all, anywhere. This is frustrating....I can work on my calves, thighs, but I don't jump high. Crap!

TheKlbrister I understand, but have you ever watched Alex Wong? I study Chinese Kenpo. It is likened to a tree trunk stance. We have kicks, but the movements are fluid. My Sensei is teaching us the crescents like shown in this awesome vid. I hope to someday do an assimilation of the crescent kick. Lol . "OSS"

Work on your achilles tendon strength, that tendon is where most of your jumping force comes from.
