Some people dislike others simply for being righteous, or "good" ... that's scriptural. Of course Jesus told His disciples the people around Him (Israel and Romans, I think who would have heard Him) they hated me, they'll hate you. I'm sure you get the gist of my comment. LOTS seem to thrive on drama or the misery of others. I tell mine, if you can't help, don't hinder. They turned out pretty well, say others.

I’m back from 2 years ago retrieving this recipe. I forgot who had the recipe so I searched for awhile but I found her! My granddaughter is 11 and wanted to make something for the guys when they come back with the Christmas tree. It smells so good. She did apple then a cherry. Thanks for the recipe 🎄❤

I remember as a child growing up, my mother would make pumpkin and raisin Danish for Thanksgiving. The whole house would always smell like apples, and pumpkins. The other day my brothers, sisters, and I took a once walk through the house to say our last farewell now that the both of our parents have passed on. We sold the house to a wonderful couple who fell in love with the house the minute they walked in. No children yet they said, but are planning to have some soon. As my brothers, sisters and I said farewell all of a sudden the aroma of pumpkin , cinnamon, and apples swirled through the air. Then we all looked at each other and said "ma ma is in the kitchen cooking !" Then we all shed a tear of happiness knowing that ma ma was in the kitchen cooking.

What a wonderful story. I think your sweet mom was telling you it is well and she loves you. We have lived in our house for four years and we have no connection to the previous owner..however we both smelled fried chicken on day and recently, at night I could smell something really good baking/cooking in the house. Maybe someone is telling us that they approve of us living here. The new owners of your childhood home will create new memories and will pass those down to their children..

If I had my great grandma's recipes....I would know how to make the best damn sugar cookies on this entire planet! I'm not even exaggerating you guys. Her sugar cookies were the most amazing most decadent sugar cookies you've ever had. Not too sweet but not too doughy. Not too hard but not too soft either. They would melt in your mouth like heaven. I cant even do justice in explaining how good her sugar cookies were. She was wonderful at cooking many other things as well. She was just an incredible woman who cooked very very well, and with more love than I've ever tasted in food since. Everytime we went to her house I would go right to the kitchen and stand by the cookie jar and get on my lil tippy toes and just barely peek over the counter to look at the jar and shed get a big smile and that deep endearing laugh she had (the most wonderful beautiful laugh) and would come over and always grab me a cookie. I'm getting teary eyed just thinking about it... It really stuck with me when she talked about how she wished she had thought about those things more back then, to get those recipes and what not. I was just a young kid so keeping those traditions or learning those ways and the abundance of things I couldve learned from her, didnt really cross my mind...but now that I'm older I think about ALL I couldve learned from her, she knew how to do so much...and how i now will never have the chance to because shes gone. My great gran was such an amazing lady. The sweetest most loving Christian woman you've ever met. If you were cold she would make you a quilt, or knit you a hat and scarf. If you were hungry she wouldnt just feed you, shed cook you the best damn food you've ever had the pleasure of eating. If I had only understood how amazing (my great grandparents) they were and how much there was to learn from them... It's something that I'll never stop thinking about. It's sad how much we take for granted all we have, but once its gone... only then we realize what a precious thing we had, and how lucky we were to experience such things. I'll always love and miss grandpa grandma❤ I'm so lucky to have had either of them in my life at all....

I make a little bowl with aluminum foil and then wet a paper towel and nest it in the aluminum foil bowl and put it in the top of brown sugar container and it softens it right up instead of using bread that can mold it’s great for putting in a cookie jar to soften hard cookies! Also for cutting slices of cinnamon rolls use dental floss it won’t crush the little slices instead of using a knife that crushes the form of the slices... just a tip great recipe!

I’ve never heard an American use the word “jam” before. Here in Oz, Jelly is the sweet wibbly wobbly stuff that’s made of gelatine. Jam is the sweet fruity stuff you spread on your toast in the morning. When I was a kid, I used to wonder what the deal was with those Americans and their peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. So I made some jelly, the sweet wibbly wobbly stuff with gelatine, and put it on a sandwich with peanut butter. It was really good !

Leonie, in my family we had jam and preserves (or marmalade) only for our toast. My mom would get nauseous when Jello or jelly wobbled back and forth. She would make Jello for us but as soon as it gelled, my father had to dish it up! We were merciless with Jello on spoons...luckily she was a good sport. 😄
@ucanleaveyourhaton3 жыл бұрын
BermudaGirl 19 , Thanks for your reply 👍. I kinda figured that you guys call what we know as jam, jelly. We also use jam, mainly on our toast. We also have jam with peanut butter on a sandwich. Also, we spread jam in the middle of a sponge cake. 😬. Maybe your mum had a kind of sea sickness LoL I can just imagine kids teasing their mum with jelly (jello).
