Thanks to you both. Had a few years with crestron where I wasn’t allowed to touch the system. Always wanted to. Now new gig needs a tech who gets it. I’m so in! Once again thank you for taking the time to share your wisdom fellas!👊🏼🙌

Shadowing is not the only way to learn although it is a great way to expose yourself to real world scenarios. Study for the CTS certification from AVIXA. Study for the Network+ certification from Comp TIA. You can also do free courses over at Shure and Audinate to get down with Dante Audio. Go over and check out Extron.com and read a few manuals and try get on their courses.

I’m more on the audio side (DJ/Sound Engineer), however, because I want to expand my skills in programming and want to grow in this forever growing industry, AV has become a career that I see myself retiring from. Keep these videos coming guys. You have my attention😁

Its been 4 years since the release of this video, and I can say that there are a huge shortage of reliable/competent techs, but also AV companies are limiting who they want to help in the advancement their careers.

thank you for the videos, very helpful, would you make a video showing how to connect an Ir in the processor to manipulate the source it would also be helpful if you could use a chalk boart to draw a diagram, to make it more visua, the explanation is great but having the equipment on the table is hard to appreciate how the equipment looks thank you again hope you make more videos like this

Thanks for the ideas - will add the "how to program an IR device" to the list of videos I am going to create. The diagram of the components is a good idea... unfortunately we don't have this equipment available right now so I can't do a diagram but will keep that in mind for future. (sorry for the late rely, sometimes comments get missed)

I am an ETO who wants to shift to working on yachts, and all of them require AV/IT knowledge, so here I am trying to gain some knowledge to show for it on an interview, lol.

If i have a second Touch Panel TSW and a second projector, can i use the same Crestron DMPS -150-C processor?
@ProAVSchool
@ProAVSchool 3 жыл бұрын
The DMPS3-150-C is essentially a 6x1 switcher. It has HDMI and HDbaseT outputs but they are mirrored and will always have the same signal. So you could use a second projector but it would have to have the same input selection and you might have to add an external HDbaseT transmitter/receiver to extend HDMI if the projector is further than the HDMI alone could reach. As for the panel, the processor inside the DMPS is similar to a lot of the 3 series processors. It can handle a lot of touch panels and ancillary devices, depending on programming. A second TSW panel would be no problem at all.

I'm still a little confused about transmitter. Is that the source like a computer or is that an actual piece of equipment that the source is connected to before it gets to the processor?

TX gives the user, or a piece of hardware, a place to plug into remote from the control system rack. basically it gets video from one place to another.
@ProAVSchool
@ProAVSchool 3 жыл бұрын
sorry for the delayed response, missed this question somehow Anyway, the transmitter in this case is an actual piece of hardware; and HDbaseT transmitter that essentially converts the laptop's HDMI video into a signal that can get sent a up to 100m via category cable to an HDbaseT receiver. In this case, there is a receiver circuit for that specific input inside the DMPS switcher which converts it back into an HDMI signal. Depending on the model of switcher, there may be an HDMI output or possibly an HDbaseT output that would get sent a longer distance to the display (via a receiver at the display). Hopefully that helps clarify things a bit

the funny thing is that we're actually both about the same height, apparently I (Dustin, the guy on the left) have really bad posture. This was one of the first videos we did like this it's a little awkward getting comfortable in front of a camera.
