Crete: continuing the journey

The island of Crete continues to embrace the Bering Yachts team with many events. The Armenis knife shop is, like many small businesses here, family-owned. Every handmade blade has an engraving made by the father, and the daughter takes care of sales and marketing. We participated in the engraving process; now, a Bering-engraved knife is in our collection.
Continuing the age-old tradition, the Vassilakis estate has been supplying olive oil to the village since the mid-nineteenth century, and we join the testing and learn the basic qualities of the olive oil: bitterness, fruitiness, and spiciness. Learning how to become oil experts from one of the estate owners, we finish the tasting with a sip of limoncello and then travel to the Lassithi plateau for a stunning and heartwarming experience of riding a hot-air balloon. The day ends with dinner at the edge of the water. We drink, eat, and talk philosophy.
When night falls, Alexei continues the adventure with squid fishing. He casts a line from the Papillon’s swimming platform and catches several squids. Deeply satisfied, our founder goes to sleep to wake up at a new location - the island of Santorini. The next series will be filmed there.
