Hello Chris! I have actually considered this! I haven't tried it out though, but definitely should. I may need to turn down some of my softboxes in order for the color to really pop off on the wall.

I believe only through WiFi. These LED utilizes both LED and Bluetooth for the pairing process, but once you get the lights connected, it just needs WiFi to control. Some important downside which you missed to mention. All ble lights can onle be paired and controlled by 1 device. I have them paired to my account on my mobile. My wife cant control then even when she log into my account on her mobile.

Actually with the Smart Life application, you can share the connected devices on your account to other Smart Life accounts. You just need to create a home for the devices and share the invitation code that the admin created, which in your case would be you giving the invitation code to your wife. That way, you each would have your own accounts, but you both can control the lights, without causing the other user to be signed out. Let me know if you have any questions! I already tried sharing. It shares the devices but still not allowing control. It actually even say that on the sharing screen of the app. "Currently, you cannot share bluetooth mesh devices, zigbee devices, infrared devices, and bluetooth beacon devices with other users". My best guess is that cheap chip is used in the lamps only remembering address of 1 bt device. Also might be worth to mention that bluetooth lamps cant be scheduled neither.
