At 13:12 when you show the Zeta case saver, the black grease drips below, I have even more of this grease buildup from just a couple hours even after replacing both sprockets and new chain. Where does this come from? Any reason for concern?

I put that flatland on my wr250r and thought something happened with engine shortly thereafter. They really change how engine sounds to the rider.

I keep track of my fuel by looking at the wasted amount of gas (in gallons) on the odometer. Will the IMS tank mess with the odometer reading? My next upgrade for my 450L is a Yoshi pipe since I already got the vortex ECU. Tank might get replaced after that.

Yes, if you are talking about the low fuel light, it will come on as normal, like it does with the stock tank. Odo/speedo correction is available if yours is off, by going with one of these... soloracer.com/crf450lsdrd.html

A lot of people seem to be having issues with fuel in the oil did u do anything to correct that problem also have you thought of anyways to increase the oil capacity. To make the oil change intervals longer

Have not experienced that issue, or even heard about it. Can you provide more details?
@texlee1640
@texlee1640 4 жыл бұрын
I am active on a few forums specific to this very model and I have never once heard of this being an issue in almost 400 pages of communication. You can run a Rekluse or Hinson clutch cover to slightly increase the oil capacity. More than a few guys have started stretching their oil change intervals to 1000-1500 miles with no issues whatsoever. These have been backed by Blackstone Labs oil analysis showing no problems at those intervals. I think some is currently testing a 2,000 mile oil change interval as well. These service intervals will likely be reduced and mileage between oil changes increased in time as the platform proves its durability.

Awesome update, Brett! How do you compare the JD EFI Controller with the Vortex?
@user-we5yo2yo1f
@user-we5yo2yo1f 4 жыл бұрын
Many customers complain about the low RPM fueling and snatchy throttle that the stock bike has. The JD Jetting EFI seems to correct that I'd say about 75% when combined with an exhaust. I'd say the Vortex corrects that nearly 100% with an exhaust. They both really wake the bike up, but the Vortex just takes it to the next level.

Rear tail light leaks, i had one, number plate tail light stops working because of water ingress, i had to solder a normal capless bulb for the number plate because the led strip was corroded, the stock tail light is way better.

Did you contact 12oClockLabs about that? They would have warrantied it for you. Your experience is not the norm and I wonder if you got one of the early ones before they got everything sorted. They've done several things to make the kit stand up to the elements because they know these bikes will be ridden hard in all kinds of conditions. We've sold a ton of these tail lights with very few issues. And 12oClockLabs stands behind their products so they would have worked with you on it for sure.

Nice bike! What’s the current ready to ride weight with all of your changes?
@user-we5yo2yo1f
@user-we5yo2yo1f 4 жыл бұрын
Haven't weighed it, but probably pretty close to the stock weight. With the FMF exhaust, we probably dropped 7-8 lbs, but then we've added some weight back with protective items like skid plate, radiator guards, handguards, etc. In the end, I bet it's close to being a wash. But depending on the type or riding you're doing, you need the protective bits, so you have to add a bit of weight for those.

They are a Japanese company that specializes in dual sport and motocross parts/accessories. We've been using and selling their parts for years and it's generally pretty good stuff. We have their products installed on DRZ400's, CRF250L's, WR250R's, etc and now they have a lot of 450L parts as well.

How much did this project cost?
@user-we5yo2yo1f
@user-we5yo2yo1f 3 жыл бұрын
Not sure. We never added it all up. This bike is used to test fit parts, see what works, and what doesn't. So, the total project cost is sort of irrelevant.
