brilliant. hats off to you guys. I've walked around those mountains for years and never had the balls to do the ridge walk on Crib Goch. Really well filmed. Cheers for posting.

I did this yesterday in the mist- first time i've done anything like it, fortunately i had an experienced mate with me. I'm not ashamed to say I was bricking it most of the way. 3 points of conatct and slow and steady for me. Take my hat of to these boys, balls of steel and balance to match!

Thanks for that guys! First traversed the ridge in 1965 - weather was poor, low cloud so we saw nothing of the drop either side - doubt if my legs would get me up to the start now. Lovely to watch again though, many thanks.

My girlfriend used the Pyg Track when she was at school and thought that was mountaineering! She couldn't understand why we are so excited about Crib Goch tomorrow and so I showed her this video. Now she doesn't want me to go! Awesome footage boys, well done, especially the cameraman! Imagine we'll be a lot slower tomorrow...only because we're taking the views and savouring the moment, honest!!!

You make this look so easy! I was shakin in my boots doing this. I love Crib Goch. The challenge of Snowdon is all about gettin to the top in an hour, where as Grib Goch is all about surviving it!

Great video guys. I did this walk in thick cloud, pouring rain and a howling wind last Autumn, and so naturally I was a lot lot slower! Well done to the cameraman too. I had enough to do watching my own footing, so I am very impressed with the quality of the filming.

We did this yesterday, pissing rain and mist everywhere which was a shame as we couldn't take in the views, still it was one of the scariest things i've ever done and for you guys to do it that speed, even if the weather is nice, is really impressive. Nice vid!

This is SO well filmed. Top man. Great route. I agree it is really a fine weather route and also the other sensible comments. I took my wife and a family friend Gwen up the Watkin path (I've always wanted to say that! think I should rephrase it?) Anyway Gwen was bout 62 at the time and Sue my wife had never been up Snowdon. Gwen has done loads of mountain walking but never done Crib Goch. When we reached Snowdon summit the day was so still and clear we went for it. Amazing.

Hi Andy great video been a few years since me and a mate went over it, we hit the car park at 6 to find it chocker with a 3 peaks in 24hr run on the go so went up over crib goch we had great weather but lots of wind hitting us from the pyg track and we didn't ambel across as sure footed as yourself, watching this has had me checking the weather to see if I can get over it again as we kind of messed up at the rock we see at 4 minutes

Pen y Fan is the highest peak in South Wales but not much more than a hill. Crib is one of the 15 peaks over 3,000 ft in Snowdonia. I know that's no great height in the grand scheme of things but most of them start from not far above sea level and they are all either craggy, scree, or both. Simply fabulous, all of them.

I'm glad everyone understands the potentially serious nature of this outing. I've also done it in horrendous conditions, in snow, in ice, in wind, in rain, when I've been fully aware of how raw the natural world can be. Time in the hills is a learning experience, and we all have to start getting that experience somewhere. And I'd appreciate it if people restrain themselves from using bad, angry language please.

His name is Eric Jones. Yes, his Cafe is at the foot of some rock faces, near Tremadog, which is very popular during the summer with rock climbers. The guy's a living legend, look him up, he's done some of the craziest things like jumped off Angel Falls in Venezuela & he's 74 years old!!! Ok, maybe he was in his early 60s when he did it but, pah!! I see him around all the time & he's still climbing and cycling etc. Awesome guy.

If you're fit and healthy, have a good head for heights, and like a bit of adventure, then it should be fine for you. Just make sure you check the weather forecast, that you're properly equiped for the weather, take a map and compass (and know how to use them), and that you let someone know you're going. It's a great ridge, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Good luck with the 15 peaks - it's a great challenge, especially if you have good weather.

Sorry for the late reply. It's more exposed for a greater distance than Sharp and Striding, and the top part is relatively level, unlike the two in the Lakes that are more of a constant ascent. Overall, Crib Goch is a tougher proposition in similar conditions.

Nice video. But why comment about old person. I did Crib Goch on my 40th, and 50th birthdays and hope I will do it on my 60th in a couple of years. @irongut12345 I think the best experience is experience itself. I love the mountains, and have never been able to keep myself from climbing to the tops when I get to the feet of them since I was about 16. I say if you feel the climb, go for it. Just be smart, take chances, but don't be an idiot. Losing your strength, getting stuck high up, or pulling off a hold and falling to your death HAPPENS. A god doesn't prevent you from death, you do. Remember that. Be safe.

@cardiffgrimeX3 If you've done some scrambling before, and you have a good head for heights, then it's not too bad. Tell someone you're going, take a map and a compass, good clothing, and consider leaving it for another day if it's windy and / or wet.

@ Mark Mackie. I'm surprised you think we are going fast Mark, if you went up there on a fell running race day you will find people running (carefully) along this ridge. I think you will find that with practice you become better at things like this: very few fell runners get injured as they realise it will spoil their life. We've been doing this for 30 years. (I'm the guy being filmed).

@lennypen1978 If you've done Striding Edge, then you should be OK, although Crib Goch is longer and a bit more exposed. Take a map and compass, suitable clothing and enough food and water. Make sure it's a good weather forecast, and let someone know you're going.

Hello Andrew, Im looking for abit of help! Im thinking of climbing Crib Goch this late May, not done any scrambling before! Climbed Scafell Pike last May & i'm quite fit and young - applying for the Royal Marines. Or best to stick to the Pyg Track or something similar? Thanks for the help, Andy :D

@spurs8447 Before you cast aspertions on the capabilities or otherwise of myself and my colleague, you should consider a few points. Moving quickly in the mountains, is not a recipe for disaster when the people doing it know what they are doing, and can in fact be the safest way of moving. I don't recommend it for inexperienced folk, but I'm a fully qualified mountain leader with 20 years' of experience in many mountain ranges around the world, and am quite capabale of assessing risk.
