I was a member of a folk club at The Red Lion when it was in Stoke. So that dates me a bit, first time I went to Crich, the pub was being rebuilt, a tram was being restored in the big shed and I thought, 'when I retire, I'm volunteering here to apply my skills to something useful'. But things change, I still visit, several times a year as I like to photograph what's happening. The special weekends when re-enactors put on various events of various ages and the trams from that period run.

I know exactly what you mean. Like you I had plans to do a number of things when I retired. Sadly I did none of them. Things change so fast now. As long as we get some pleasure out of what we are doing at the moment. Thats all that maters.

All the trams are restored to a very high standard and look wonderful. All the volunteers clearly enjoy what they do and are very informative. They actively encourage you to ask them questions. I think it was a BSA club visiting. You are quite right in saying cobbles and tram track is not the best surface for motorcycles.

Another cracking video Tommy, they've certainly got an impressive collection. I like the way the drivers give the commentaries before setting off, nice idea.

Superb video of what looked like an excellent event. I've never managed to attend one of the enthusiast events held at the museum so will have to make the effort next year. Lovely to see the line-up of the London trams and then the horse trams. Also lovely to see that wonderful interior on tram 159, what a superb effort they have put in to restoring that tram down to every small detail. Many thanks for sharing your video, thoroughly enjoyed watching that - Hayden.

What lovely interior fittings in those old trams. lovely red upholstery and varnished wood @ 3:00. Informative conductor too. Must be a challenge riding motorbikes on tramlines & cobbles. Looked like a meeting of the BSA Owners' Club.
