That last scene is pretty funny (although that "words of a gushing female" line is a little touchy). No actor can get ticked off in more of an entertaining way than Roddy McDowall.

To tell you the truth they didn't need the singing number with the Cat Lady😒 What was needed was more tender moments between the cricket and Jeremiah Caww. They could have had a some funny chase scene instead , with the cricket outsmarting Jeremiah's gang before being captured. The singing cat just slowes the show down😒
