That was so cool to see Cricket's family! Both her parents were absolutely gorgeous! She said her sister Holly were SOOO cute as little ones! I loved that smile her mother had. It looks like she was a fantastic mother to Cricket. Really caring for her little ones. I have a real soft spot in my heart for Mamas and little ones. Cricket was so cute as a puppy!! She's adorable as a grown up!! I love the idea that her fur was sable and white. But as she got older, she became a tri-color. I believe that I have told you before, my sister had several Shelties. One was just Cricket's size. But she was a bi - black and white. Cricket has the same small ears like my favorite Sheltie. She (my sister) had several sables like Biscuit. The second youngest, her name was Lainie. The youngest, who was a tri-color, was named Payton. But a few generations ahead of Lainie, was a mother and daughter - not related to Lainie. The mother was Chelsey. She was larger not a Collie size, bit smaller. She had a daughter named Candace. Candace had attitude. Hard headed. Loved to lay down under the Christmas tree 🎄. All but the last three Shelties we're show dogs. Biscuit reminds me of Lainie and Cricket reminds me of Mia. But Mia technically was mine. She chose me to be her Godmother. They all, including some that I didn't mention and I miss them all very much. Your precious babies remind me of them. Thank you for sharing them with us. Except, none of my sister's canines had a vehicle to ride in.

Cricket is a sable, they call the darker version a "shaded sable" or "mahogany sable". Genetically, they can't switch coats, but the variety and depth of variations can be decieving! 🙂

Interesting to see Cricket's colors when she was a puppy. My 12 week old has a father with a mix of black and sable, and mother with sable, and he is mostly sable color with some subtle dark highlights. It will be interesting to see what develops. They are beautiful regardless of color though...

Wow Cricket was quite a bit lighter in color as a pup. I have a sheltie who as a pup appeared to be mahogany but ended up losing the mahogany color and was sable when she grew out her adult fur. Ya just never know what you're gonna get but you can always count on a wonderful dog.😍🐶

From when they are born, until they reach adulthood, Shelties go through an array of coat color & marking changes as they grow. It can take about 2 years for a Sheltie's coat to reach it's peak of perfection.

Yep, I saw that video as well! Loved it! And yes her real dad was very hairy, her mom not so much. Turned out into a unique lovable sheltie, that's for sure! One almost wouldn't recognize her anymore. And yep, you've got the eyes of Irresistibility and Irresponsibility down to a T! I have observed that no matter how adorable Sheltie puppies are, just wait! It can take up to 2 years for their magnificent coats to really come in. They are so beautiful, but what really sets them off is their intelligence & their personalities. Shelties are awesome!
