@@jhon007-dk8ww All dear readers, one nice and important fact I'd like to share with you here. Mostly national citizens of a certain country often tease others that you're only a typical fan of your own nation idols. It could be me teasing others or even you teasing someone else. But before doing that, let's inspect the actual scenario. I'm telling this based on my experiences in India. Your experiences may differ from the following. Fact is that most of the common people didn't have TV back in 1970s and even till mid 1990s. So society people mostly used to gather and be openly welcomed by the little 'royal' families who had TV set at their home. Those times, watching even India matches was hell of difficult task as Doordarshan didn't used to telecast every single match. If watching India matches itself was so difficult, obviously watching other nation matches in India seems a far fetched dream, as there was no internet or private network those days to watch any channel across the globe. So this is the VERY REASON WHY MOSTLY INDIANS HAVE WATCHED ONLY INDIA MATCHES AND CAN RECALL MOSTLY INDIAN HEROES. But I must say, I was lucky to experience both India and other nation matches of golden times like from 2000 till 2002. Especially I've watched other nation matches more than India matches, all thanks to espn, the best sports channel I've ever watched. I've watched Tests and ODIs (at least highlights of) WI-Aus, Eng-Aus, Zimbabwe matches, Ind-NZ, Ind-WI and several other quality contests. All the heroes then, like Sherwin Campbell, Alistair Campbell, Andy-Grant Flower, Lara, Nasser Hussain, Trescothick, Butcher, Stewart, Wavell Hinds, Marlon Samuels, Gayle, Jacobs, Ben-Adam Hollioake, Flintoff, Hoggard, Graham Thorpe, Cork, Gough, Mullally, Astle, Fleming, Mark Richardson, Vincent, Styris, Macmillan, Oram, Cairns, Harris, Tuffey...... THE LIST OF LEGENDS IS SIMPLY ENDLESS !!!! They weren't just players or entertainers, but the WHOLE TEAMS OF SA, NZ, AUS, SL, ENG, WI, ZIM AND INDIA WERE EDUCATORS. THEY HAVE ACTUALLY TAUGHT CRICKET AND LIFE BASICS TO ALL THE WORLDLY PEOPLE OF THE ENTIRE GENERATION. SALUTE TO MY GLORIOUS '90s AND 2000s CRICKET !!! I think espn gave me so much sports knowledge which is never available as a package ON ANY CHANNEL NOWADAYS. I've watched all of cricket, football, F1, cycling, skating, tennis, boxing, golf and somewhat even wwe, polo, horse racing, basketball, baseball, billiards and rugby back in 2000s. Getting to watch such quality sports on a single channel in India is beyond impossible today, despite so much technological and overall progress. Sportscenter program was really amazing and it covered news and updates of all sports, not just cricket or thereabouts. Really love those days of glorious 1990s and early 2000s !!!!!!!!!! 🏏👌👌👍👍👍😊😊😊😊

@@rameshrnayak Yes anwar’s record was so difficult to break with field restrictions, no DRS & power play rules in place. Gem of a batsman, many came close to 194 (Ganguly 183, Kirsten 189) but no one could cross 194 for a very long time which is a huge achievement.

As an Indian fan, I always used to envy the talent that Pak used to possess. My god can you imagine this team of hall of famers: Anwar (gem of a batsman), Ijaz, Inzamam, Youhana, Azhar Mahmood, Razaq, Moin/Latif, Saqlain the Genius, Waqar, Aqib and all time greatest left hand fast bowler of all time the one and only Wasim Akram. You take one guy out, there is another strong guy entering the field. And I am not even counting Afridi and Amir Sohail as they weren't so consistent. At the time, India was no match to Pak and I used to pray so much to God to make India win :( and most of the time they used to lose (albeit World cups being exception). Today India is the cricket's powerhouse and I cannot believe that the talent in Pak has evaporated so much that they're no match today at international stage.

He is underrated only in India . Because in India if a commentator or cricket journalist admires a Pakistani cricketer people start hating him. This is the reason cricket experts hesitate to admire Pakistan cricketers. But there are exceptions ; I am myself an Indian

After this series captaincy swapped .azhar became captain again.tendulkar made his roar in 1998.....next series in sharjah for india no one will forget....in April 98...in which master beat sharjah storm and Aussie storm

The reason behind 98 success and 97 failure is Not captaincy...It's batting order of Master Blaster... In his own captaincy in 97 Sachin batted @ no4... In 98 under Mama Azharuddin captaincy he opened the inning and created history by his aggressive knocks again and again
