Orcs were created by "The First Lord Morgoth" as a slave race by torturing elves. Goblins are a specific race of Orc that lives in the mountains. And Uruk-hai are another race of Orc that are much stronger and more resilient than regular Orcs or Goblins. It's like how a toad is a frog but a frog isn't necessarily a toad.
@fuckyoutube93053 жыл бұрын
so the original orcs were made from corrupted elves but now they are their own race

@@gee8648 what about ologs, trolls, and whatever those giant behemoths with catapults on their backs are?
@DoomNeb3 жыл бұрын
@@uncledoctor6920 Ordinary trolls are ones generally found near the misty mountains and ettenmoors (like the ones encountered in the Hobbit) and turn to stone in daylight. Ologs or Olog-Hai are trolls bred closer to Mordor that are capable of withstanding sunlight. Dunno about the other thing though
@isaacsorrels40773 жыл бұрын
@@uncledoctor6920 All those probably originate from the first trolls Melkor made as his own personal version of the ents. The reason I say probably is because of the catapult things you mentioned. The other two were creations of Melkor. Ents are to wood as trolls are to stone.

I remember playing RoK with my mom when I was younger. Will always have special place in my heart.
@lemeres24783 жыл бұрын
you can tell this came out before the movie. I mean... your first quests are about selling your house to a competing land owner just to get money for your quest, and then you have to find a small mechanical part for a watermill that belongs to an asshole. Maybe I'm just blanking out the first movie, but this is not what you would focus on in the cinematic version if you are making a game. This is deep down the Tolkein hole, where there are random world building chapters everywhere about random junk.
@calumsanderson67413 жыл бұрын
That's because this had nothing to do with the movies, it was a separately licensed game based on the book, released around the same time as the movie to capitalise
@LucasCarter2 Жыл бұрын
Same thing happened with Harry Potter on the GBC. The original game came out before the movies, and thus doesn't have any of the iconic music (but to me the game music is very nostaglic) and certainly portrays a different Hogwarts than the movies do.

I got to Moria, took a wrong step and fell down a hole to my death. But I thought "hey if I save the game, when I reload I'll be safe!". Instead whenever I loaded the game, I was alive for about 4 frames before I died in the hole. It was my only save, so I had to delete it.

I'm about 99.998% certain the meeting to discuss the game design involved a line of coke that was violently snorted before the following pile of cocaine was faceplanted into
@uncledoctor69203 жыл бұрын
Sorta true, there's a physical biography of the game floating around that never got digitized that details the creation of the game. According to it, the creative directors went to the parking lot of the studio, shoveled out cocaine into long lines, and then sprinted along them while snorting it through comically large straws. Whoever stayed on their feet and went the longest without slipping into a fit of spasms after they finished their line would get the privilege of having 1 thing put into the game they wanted, no exceptions. This happened every meeting over the course of the game's development, so it's a miracle it's not filled with silly, bizarre or anachronistic things that make no sense. I'm making all of this up btw.

The chase scene in which Frodo is riding alone against the Nazghul to the river was from the book; this same scene but w\ Arwen carrying Frodo to Rivendell was exclusive to the film so she had more screentime\ a girl power moment. The game is adapting the book, not the film. :) I don’t know if the later games follow the books or the films, or are a mixture of both...
