I got a broken heart when i last watched Hotarubi for countless of time..Despite that,i always think the ending was the best ending for the movie,yup although it was a tragic one and for God's sake i freaking hate it hahaha...But...The reason this movie existed was based on author's real life experience with her late friend..Cancer patient..Yep,Gin's 'death' was created to symbolize that everything would come to an end..Her died friend..:)

I currently live in japan as a university student and I can assure you japan has many negatives once you live there... of course I like japan or else I wouldn’t live there but I think people should stop thinking that japan is the best country out there and that life there is like in an anime! Japan has pros and cons like any bother country and you can only know these by living there...
