Neville-Lakes’ three children were killed by a drunk driver, Marco Muzzo, in a crash in Vaughan back in 2015.
Nine-year-old Daniel Neville-Lake, his five-year-old brother Harrison, their two-year-old sister Milly, and the children’s 65-year-old grandfather, Gary Neville, were killed in the collision.
The driver, the son of a wealthy family, was sentenced to ten years in jail but is now out on parole while the mother of the children is left grieving the loss of her family.

@@BorderlinegoldenretrieverKnowing that drunk driving is most likely a death sentence for someone and doing it anyways is not a "mistake". Period! He is still walking and breathing, his life is not over! People that make excuses for this kind of action, seem to me to be someone that would also get behind the wheel drunk too. SMH!

Are you serious? His life didn't end. He just got married and is going to be starting a family. He didn't commit suicide the day after Fathers Day because he couldn't take the pain anymore like the dad Edward Lake. Instead he made the pain worse by not even serving the ridiculous sentence of 10 years!!! for Four LIVES!!! and instead asked for less with early parole. He was even fighting in court with the amount the family was asking for in punitive damages arguing that he felt their losses were worth less than the family was asking for. His life didn't end. e@@Borderlinegoldenretriever

This video should be made mandatory to play in EVERY high school in the country (or even college campus or driver's Ed . for that matter) period. As someone who works in critical care medicine and has had a life long interest in crime content--without question, I have never in my life been more deeply affected and just shaken down to my core, by something I've seen..I can't even find the words.

My heart goes out to this family. Our family has a similar experience. In 1980 my mother's sister was struck in Saskatoon, Sk. by a drunk driver while out for a bike ride on Pendygrasse Rd. She was 27 and passed away from injuries. This changed all our lives immensely. People be smart and make wise choices before drinking. No one makes great choices while intoxicated.

Murder and manslaughter are different crimes. Still, getting 10 years, off after 4 with good behaviour is egregious. What’s most u;P setting is a family worth 1.8 billion is contesting a 25 million settlement. You killed 2 generations of a family tree you shouldn’t be contesting that settlement. I’m willing to bet that money is somehow covered from indemnification as well.

The Parole Board are useless and I know they will not allow you to use certain words in your statement because my son was murdered in 2013 at the age of 31 and when I would write letters to the victim services or parole board I was told you couldn’t use certain words. I guess they don’t want the murderers to feel the hatred from the victims families. RIP to those whose lives were taken. 😢❤

This is one of the most profound real life stories I've ever seen. It made such an impact on me and its is going to stay with me for a very long time. I've lost people in my life who were really close to me, amongst others I lost my best friend of 16 years. I can only imagine having children and the thought of losing one of them. The closest I've been to having children, have been my dogs. I obviously know that dogs are nothing close to children, I'm just trying to explain and try as best I can to understand what other people are going through. I lost my dog who was with me for more than 14 years and that totally fucked me up. The empty house without his presence and the sounds he made, together with all the hours we spent together on a daily basis walking and socialising. Suddenly it was all gone. Being a single person living alone with no friends obviously he ment the world to me and I really felt the loneliness, emptyness, desperation and the total darkness of depression. I can't even imagine the magnitude of losing not one child but three children - all of your children! At the same time! And also your father. It's absolutely unbelievable. I was thinking about how she was even able to get out of bed each day and face a nightmare worse than she ever would've been able to imagine. How do you do that? I know for certain I could've never lived on after such a trauma. I absolutely understand her husband who chose to end his life. It's so gruesome that she had to lose her husband as well, this whole tragedy just shattered my heart. I'm so impressed by this woman and her grace and dignity. Such a warm, loving, caring, grounded, adorable woman who made her children and family just the same as herself. What an absolute horror of an experience but still she's not bitter and filled with hate. I'm in awe of this extraordinary beautiful human being she is ❤️

I can't imagine, nor would I ever want to, losing my children like this! My Heart is shattered for this mother who had to lose her babies to this Selfish, Un-caring, Self Serving Monster! Anyone who drinks and gets behind the wheel of a car, in my opinion, does not care about the people around them, only about themselves! I do NOT have the conscious to even think about driving even when taking cough medicine, anything that causes even a bit of drowsiness I would never think about getting behind the wheel of a motor vehicle of any sorts. I couldn't live with myself if I caused an accident hurting someone much less killing them. I really couldn't. With this day and age that you can text for an Uber ride that just takes minutes to arrive, there is NO reason for drunk driving accidents. There should be NO bail, probation, tickets for anyone caught drunk driving under no circumstances, straight to prison and no longer get driving privileges ever.. Period!

So sad. So horrendous. So outrageous This man should be in jail for life.. no parole per victim. Concurrently. How is this clump of cells is able to see freedom within years of his crime. Drunk drivers are given to much leniency and are no where near held accountable for their actions. Guilt is not a sentence. Guilt is a selfish denial of actions and should no way be considered in the proclaim of remorse. This sad example of human cells should be behind bars forever. He should have to weigh this on his shoulder second for second of every minute of every hour of every day until it takes its last breath. And should not be remembered for anything other then the suffering, pain, sadness and anguish that it caused for the family, friends, and acquaintances of those who lost their ability to celebrate the accomplishments of their loved ones that were senselessly and without reason other than selfishness and egotisticaly ripped from their lives.

Sentencing in Commonwealth countries is notoriously disproportionate to serious crime. Someone said towards the end that if seeing this news coverage all over the world doesn't make people think twice, he didn't know what would. The single thing that might is a breath testing device, installed to every vehicle at manufacture, that blocks the engine from starting, if the driver is over. But that'll never happen, so people will continue to drive drunk & impaired... My brother was riding his pushbike 8 years ago & got hit by a drunk driver - wrong side of the road, 33 kph over the speed limit, dense residential street. My bro was dead at the scene, then revived. Catastrophic - multiple surgeries over several years, rendered paraplegic, one leg amputated (the other may still have to go), brain injury, crippling neuropathic pain almost daily, untold ongoing internal complications, front teeth all knocked out, multiple skin grafts, unemployable (he was a top gun rigger) & on it goes. The drunk driver got 17 months in jail & lost his licence for 9 months, then straight back out into the community. He lived so close to the club he'd been drinking at that he could have walked home if he wasn't so drunk. He actually got a lift home that day, but then decided to take a drive to the supermarket to get cigarettes. Yeah, victims of drunk drivers do get life sentences, even if they're not dead. Bless you, Jennifer 🙏 Prayers of love & support for you & your extended family, friends & support network. RIP to your beloved family 🙏🙏🙏💜

31 August 1984 South Africa: my father drove home from his work promotion dinner. They let him drive home in his work vehicle, a Toyota Cressida estate, so drunk that at the inquest they queried whether it was a typo on the blood alcohol reading. I'm so thankful that there were no other people involved. This was after several MVCs caused by him drunk driving. This case is one of the most tragic that I know of.

I remember the day this happened and hearing about it on the news. It was gut-wrenching at the time. I had hoped that the drunk driver would spend the rest of his life behind bars. I often wonder if any of the people on the parole board have had to suffer like this mother did. Maybe then they wouldn't be so quick to let killers out of jail. It shocked me when she was told that she couldn't use the word killer at the parole hearing. That is total BS, cause that is what he was. I liked her response. "How about mass murderer." Stay strong Jennifer. 🇨🇦

Jennifer - every time I see something about you and your family, I just regret that I didn't hug you for a bit longer the most recent time I saw you. We are still up against rich people. Boy with rich daddy walks free. If he had a conscience, he wouldn't even ask for freedom.

Australia does random breath tests. They also put up road blocks with a booze bus . There are also ads on telly about drink driving. Everyone should do it.

Jennifer, my heart breaks for your loss. My Father was killed by a drunk driver when I was 14 years old and the family had the nerve to put the blame on my Father 😡. The 'justice' is that they (the driver and his cousin) did not survive either. Many years have passed but it doesn't lessen the hurt. My heart goes out to you and your family 😢😢😢

If a decision to drink, and drive is made,it should be considered premeditated killing.A car with an impaired driver becomes a dangerous weapon.Long prison sentence surely.Bless the family and loved ones who are suffering.💔

driving drunk is the SAME as picking up a gun and firing into a crowd. my mother was murdered by a VERY drunk driver on my 9th birthday. 'the victim' had 4 children: 13 years old, 11, 9, and 1. it was 1965. the killer got 30 days in jail. at least things have improved, right..? 10 years!!! and he served how long..? I remember jumping around and cheering about 20 years ago, when it was announced that an impaired driver causing death would now be eligible for 'life in prison'... my elation was foolish folly. the surviving loved ones get 'life' EVERY TIME !!! my mother's first-born eventually died by suicide. I survived several attempts. I'd like to bring to attention the further tragedies that these murderers trigger. yes, suicide. AND in our case - we children then were raised by the abusive, violent, bigomist, pedophile, narcissist husband and father whom our mother was about to divorce when she was killed. and then there's the compensation from the province. my mother's children received $4,000. (approximately $20,000 today.) that's all my mother's life and mine were worth..!?!

Every cop in Australia can stop any vehicle and random breath test. We all know that here in Australia and most of us consider it beforehand and make plans so that we don’t have to drive home.

If this wasn’t Canada, I’d blame it on his status. But considering our justice system, and knowing that people like Vince Li are walking free with no record, I think it just comes down to the fact that criminals are prioritized over victims. If anything, victims are bullied, blamed and judged for not being nice and understanding towards the criminals who victimized them.

This broke me! How does Jennifer have this strength! I cried so hard over this. And to think that rich horrible family making them sue instead of just offering them compensation. I hope this killer and his family are haunted for life over this. Jennifer: god bless you. Your family brought light to this world. My god 😭

It was only the first time he had been caught but probably not the first time he had driven impaired. I would have argued with the judge that it was the first time my children had died but they weren't given a second chance. He's probably an entitled individual who has never had to consider the consequences of anything he's done. Such a tragic and completely avoidable crime.
