"An unidentified dead body of 18 year old girl is recovered from the railway tracks near Bhopal. Few bus tickets and other accessories are recovered from the spot which made the investigating officer believe that the girl is visually impaired. After an elaborate investigation it was known that the victim’s name is Anuradha who had an elder brother. Like Anuradha, I also lost most of my eyesight 8 years ago and now have a severe vision impairment. I'm lucky that I can see a certain amount from one eye, but it was very difficult to accept and adjust to life as a vision impaired woman so I understand how Anuradha felt when she was losing her eye sight. Learning how to live life without eyesight or extremely little eyesight is not easy, but with the right help and training you can learn to be as independent you can and live life to the full. There is also a time when you do feel depressed when you think of all the things you used be able to do and can never do again, or about the life you could've had if this hadn't happened to you or about how much your family and loved ones are suffering because of you. Yes, your're loved ones would always do what they can to help you but even they would have a limit and more than anything else they also have a life of their own. I'm very lucky that I have a loving and supportive family, and Rohan was definitely a loving and supportive brother to Anuradha but he had reached his limit. When Rohan felt so much under pressure he should approached someone he trusted like the Srivastava's or a counsellor and discussed his feelings and pressures with them instead of taking the drastic step he did. Together they could have come up with a solution where Anuradha would be taken care of by loving, caring people and Rohan could live his life the way he wanted to. Rohan has every right to have a girlfriend or wife, but honestly Aarti had no respect for Rohan and his sense of responsibility otherwise she would've helped in taking care of Anuradha and not call her a burden. If only Rohan had realised that Aarti didn't deserve someone like him then he wouldn't have taken his sister's life. Another reason why I feel very lucky is that I have found my life partner in my lovely husband who sees me as his wife and life partner and not a blind woman. Sorry about the long post... its just that when I saw what Anuradha was going through when she was losing and then lost her eyesight, and then everything that Rohan did for his sister and his ultimate act I felt the need to share my story. My message to those are disabled in any way is... please stay strong and remember that along with your family, doctors, counsellors, and disability organisations are there to help you with all aspects of life, especially to help you become as independent you can be. Please don't feel embarrassed or ashamed to seek their help as all your doing is trying to better your life and in turn your family's and carer's. My message to the families and carers of people with disabilities is...accept that there will be times when you feel that you can't take care of the needs of the person with a disability yourself as it might just feel like its too much for you. At times like these please seek the help of someone who you trust and talk to them, be that your partner, a friend or a counsellor and together you can come with some options that will ensure that the person with a disability will be taken good care of and you will get a break from time to time. Please also remember that you have every right to have a life of your own and that asking for help in taking care of your loved one is not a weakness at all but is a strength that can and will also help your loved one make friends and companions. Take care everyone and God Bless

That's not true Anil Ji. If you look around you then you will be able to see how people with any kind of disability, including blindness or vision impairment, enjoy even the smallest of small things in life. It may seem that they can never be happy in life however these people can feel the happiness in every activity they undertake. I say this because I have been around people with disabilities and seen how they appreciate the smallest things in life... and also because I am a vision impaired woman myself. It is true that we face many difficulties in life, however, we can feel and appreciate the good things in life too.

What I'm trying to say that we should never see someone with a disability as a burden...if you ever come close to thinking this for even a moment then think of what it must be like for the people living with the disability day in, day out without a even a minute of freedom from whatever disability it is th at they have. Mujhe Anuradha ka situation aur uske mushkilo ko personally sahee chuki ho... main bhi andhi hu, paar main Khuda ko lakh lakh shuk guzzar hu ke main puri taara andhi nahi hu.... paar ha, I've lost 70% of my eyesight and I completely understand how difficult it is to accept and live with such a disability. Yeh Aarti ko toh ek ounce empathy nahi hai!!! If I was in her position then I would be so happy and proud of the fact that he puts his disabled sister first and doing all he can to give her the best chance of living a normal a life as she can possibly lead. I mean, the siblings are the only living relatives of each other, so who else will take care of her? He enrolled her to a school for the blind and vision impaired and she was learning to live as independently as she can. Rohan ne actually apne bahen Anuradha ke liye bahot kuch kiya uske self confidence ko baara ne ke liye... he was actually a really good person, but has anyone thought of how difficult a time he has been through? I admit that as a person who lost most of her eye sight suddenly at the age of 24 I completely understand what she went through, but I was also a witness to what my parents and sister were going through watching me struggling to come to terms with everything that was happening to me.... as family we want whats best for each other, but try and put yourself in Rohan's position... as is he was taking responsibility of his only sister after the death of both parents.... and now add his sister's problems with eye pain and slow deterioration of her eyesight and the increase amount of care his sister required. Add that he has to work to earn a living and have a life of his own... even he derserves to fall in love and get married some day... just not to someone as selfish and shallow as Aarti!!! Both siblings were living through the hurt, anger and emotions of losing their parents so suddenly at such young age, but their mental health took another beating as Anuradha started to lose her eyesight... The siblings needed some counselling to help them work through their emotions and thoughts of not only becoming orphaned so suddenly, but also help them come to terms with Anuradha's disability and have not only the physical means, but also the psychological means to handle all the changes in their lives. Believe me, even I felt like was a burden to my family when I first lost most of my eyesight, but I received some counselling and also some physical means to live my life to the fullest and how, 7 years after becoming vision impaired, I am now happily married to wonderful man and have in-laws who really are just like my parents to me.... and I feel so so lucky and grateful God Almighty for showing me the way and sending the right people to me when I really needed them.... If only Anuradha and Rohan had received some counselling and Rohan had never fallen for shallow and selfish Aarti!
