Crime Patrol - Where is My Daughter? (Part I) - Episode 281 - 10th August 2013

19 year old Sofia goes missing from a village in West Bengal. The girl's father and brother approach the local police station but instead of filling a missing complaint, the police insist that she must have run away with someone but Sofia's family refuses to believe police's theory. One and half months later, Sofia's father is told by his neighbor's son that he saw Sofia with a man at a Kolkata bus stand. Did Sofia run away from home or is she kidnapped?
Crime Patrol coming back in its 4th season attempts to bring stories of crime happening all around the country. Crimes that tell us, we need to be careful, we need to be watchful. Crimes that tell us lives could have been saved.Every crime we hear of, either warns us to be careful or scares us, it could happen to us. Every crime ignites a feeling, "It should not have happened".Would knowing the "Why" behind a crime, help in stopping a crime from happening?"I don't like the way he looks at me", "I don't like the way he/she is behaving", "I think he/she is out of his/her mind", "I think he/she has gone crazy". That gaze, that quirky smile, that persistent stare which unnerves. It is difficult to understand the intentions but the hints are there.In a house a husband and wife argue, fight. A vessel comes flying, a glass breaks. Husband is angry and the wife is upset. That hatred, that ego. The distance that keeps growing. It is difficult to comprehend the damage, but the cracks are there.Feelings... expressions. Misunderstood, unresolved callings of the heart. The cracks are there. Too wide to be missed. Yet when the heart takes over the mind, the outcome is a mindless tragedy.Crime Patrol- Dastak will attempt to look at the signs, the signals that are always there before these mindless crimes are committed. Instincts/Feelings/Signals that so often tell us that not everything is normal. May be, that signal/feeling/instinct is just not enough to believe it could result in a crime. Unfortunately after the crime is committed, those same signals come haunting.

I am NOT surprised with the way police have handled this case in part-1 of this episode. Such a shame when he said - 'I am a Public servant' and refused to offer help to the same public. We pay taxes from our salaries to the govt, so that cops like these get their salaries. All these days watching crime patrol episodes, I was wondering how come police suddenly jump out of their seats to offer help immediately. It is tough for a common man to deal with such cops at some point. Thanks Anup Soni !

At the very outset my sincere thanks to Crime patrol for showing this. Hats off to the NGO for taking efforts to help the girl reunite with her family. What action was taken to the officers at West Bengal Police Station. It is high time that our government takes stern action. I would sincerely ask the public shoo these kind of officers and women publicly where in the same police will not be able to take action

True, Indian police is corrupt, sadistic and brutal. But lack of sympathy for the weak and the suffering is endemic in the entire Indian society. That PCO guy in Delhi is a classic example. Very few people care about anybody outside their immediate family.

It's looks like, lack of educated personal in the force and institutional corruption. One of police offer doesn't even know what is " public servant" means. Only way to deal and bring about changes by changing the institution culture and employing only those with minimum education of SLC. Also, it needs to have rigorous training and education program to make them aware the duty they own to public.
