It's insane that one of the most devestating moments in the Breaking Bad universe isn't the death of a legacy character, but the death of an humble guy who just wanted to see his wife and underestimated the sinister depths of the people he worked for. I cried so hard seeing Werner slowly start to realize what his fate was going to be.

I never expected to see his widow wife later when Lalo visited her.

I would have had a bit more sympathy for him had he not been warned by Mike, he made it perfectly clear that these people were not to be messed with. The large money they were all paid, the lengths gone to to keep it and them a secret. He was a complete fool, he could have retired after the few months he was away and spent everyday with her for the rest of his life. It was childish behaviour, as though the love he had for his wife was stronger than say, anyone in the military. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

After all the shit they did to Howard, he still tried to help them out of the situation with Lalo.

That’s the tragedy of Howard. He was a genuinely good man. He had a sweet soul and would give the shirt off his back. But the world is cruel. And an unstoppable force meeting an unmovable object (Gus vs Lalo) definitely means there’ll be innocent casualties. Howard unfortunately just seriously was in the wrong place at the wrong time, as cliche as that sounds. His death always got to me, especially the scenes with his widow. She wasn’t stupid. She knew something more had happened. She knew he was killed but just didn’t know how or why. But it didn’t hurt me as much as Werner.

It's crazy when you look around a shootout and realise you're the only person who doesn't show up in breaking bad. Not suprised nacho did himself like that. Only logical conclusion.

One of the craziest deaths in the series was Arturo's. Breaking Bad already demonstrated just how gruesome Gus could be. But this death was on another level. Unlike Victor, who was doomed the moment his throat was cut, with noone in the room willing to help him, Arturo's body was still intact and could still be saved. Nacho was right there in front of him and could atleast theoretically remove the plastic bag from Arturo's head. But he was held at gunpoint and the moment Gus said Nacho's secret out loud, it was clear that Arturo wouldn't survive this. Sure, Victor's death was gory, but seeing Nacho watching helplessly as Arturo is panicking and struggling while slowly suffocating to death was even more horrifying.

Honestly, there were so many shocking deaths in Breaking Bad, El Camino, & Better Call Saul that someone could make a Top 20 Deaths list & it would still leave many iconic deaths out since that's how many this series had.

It's also the fact, that the death count in Better Call Saul is rather low, mainly because as a lawyer Jimmy doesn't experience the crimes as often as Walt and Jesse do. And some of the victims aren't even truly criminals. Howard's death is by far the craziest, as he had absolutely nothing to do with the criminal world of the cartel.

Howard, who never did anything truly evil or broke the law to deserve what he got. Like his whole life led to that moment and he didn’t do Anything to get there yet it happened.

I don’t think I’ve ever had a death hurt me more than Werner. Sure, the sopranos; the the wire, both had their fair share of heartbreaking deaths; but they mostly played more on the realism and brutality of someone’s demise. This scene… this scene is more about pure emotion and the fear and uncertainty you feel knowing your time is up and there’s nothing you can do about it. He never gave into his fate, he just knew there was no way out, so even with that looming, he still noticed that his friend Michael was hurting so bad on the inside and didn’t want to kill him, so he did what a friend would do, make it as easy on him as possible. Even though Mike was the one bringing upon his death. It’s heartbreaking to the max, because he’s such a kind gentle soul. He wasn’t going to tell anybody about Gus’s operation. Mike knew that. But Gus being the person he is, doesn’t cut corners, and just couldn’t take the chance. All Werner wanted was to see his wife. When he says “is there no other way, truly?” God damn. Imagine being in his shoes. Would you be able to handle it the way he did? Knowing in your mind there literally is no reason for you to die because you know in your heart and mind you WILL keep quiet. But they don’t listen. And decide to kill you anyway. That has to be such an extremely hellish thought. Yet like Casper said, “he’s more of a man than you’ll ever be.” I love Mike, but his son would absolutely hate the path he chose to go down.

I hate to say this, but I never found Werner’s death to be devastating. Sad and very well acted for sure, yet I didn’t 100% feel sorry for him. I know why, because he ultimately brought on it himself. When we look at characters like Howard (which upset me so much), Drew Sharp, Andrea and Fred, they did nothing wrong and they were in the wrong place in the wrong time. Werner was already warned how serious Gus is yet still disobeyed him anyway. He may not have meant it, but he also took advantage of Mike’s friendship thinking he will bail him out. Werner stupidity also got Fred killed by Lalo. He also nearly endangered his own wife. If the situation had been different like Mike and Gus decided to let Werner take time off so he can be more focused only for Werner to accidentally talk to Lalo which leds to them killing Werner for their mistake, I’d likely feel different. Ziegler may have been nice and innocent, but that doesn’t excuse the fact that he royally fucked up and his death was his fault. I was angry when Howard got killed, and I felt pity for Chuck committing suicide but I’m really mixed on Werner . I liked him but he was stupidly innocent which is frustrating.

First off Chuck #1? Please. The most boring story line of the series. Also the LaLa/Gus showdown one of the worst most contrived blocked scenes in bb universe. Still don’t understand it. No way LaLo allows this to go this far. Otherwise great show and #6 easily #1. Complete innocent deaths are the most shocking.
