Hello my sister nurses! I'm a retired critical care RN. I have seen & done some interesting things these last 42 years. These ppl have my respect & my admiration. Thet are kind & compassionate when speaking about the victim or his family. Compassion & the ability to feel & show it is so important both in the jobs you ladies & I have done and in the jobs the heroes in this video do. I saw a documentary, might've been on Netflix, anyway was about a guy in LA who runs a decomp company. NOT a Spalding franchise. He was the most awful human being! The comments he made about the victims, his girlfriend, the ppl who worked for him, his competitors & everybody else he came in contact w/ were so unbelievably awful. He was a sociopath, I suspect & it broke my heart for the families of these ppl who had died as well as the dead themselves. He did not do his job w/ a loving heart. Having been a big Spalding fan, I was utterly shocked & so.angry that if I could've figured out who to complain to I would have! Anyhow, Peace ladies. Enjoy what you're doing & always lead w/ a compassionate & loving heart!

I used to work a hospital as a transcriptionist for the pathology department. Our office was around the corner from the morgue. It was 90+ degrees and a person died at home and not found for a while. The medical examiner's office has a separate facility and the body was not supposed to be brought to our morgue. I will never forget taking a break and walking out of the office. I have a suggestion for you on your clean ups, they sell a pop-up frame that holds trash bags up and open, mostly used for helping you on raked leaves, but this way someone doesnt have the risk of getting bodily fluids on them due to holding a bag open. Another suggestion would be to use a squeegee to get the mass of the fluid into locations where it's easier to pick up, perhaps with dust pans, that would help you when maggots are present, but would definitely speed your clean up process, so you can get to the point of disinfecting much quicker. Hope this helps. Thanks, VL

I run a home cleaning service and know pretty much what this entails. This is like cleaning homes except there is no property owner to guide you on what they want done. You have to go in wearing haz mat suits and you need very powerful cleaning products. Plus, you need to be able to handle seeing maggots, body tissues and flesh. Most of the stuff cleaned off needs to be disposed of in haz mat tanks. You can do it if you can handle the gory stuff. I would but I prefer socializing with my clients and coming home not having to worry that a maggot may have gotten into my stuff. Lots of work but I'm sure the money is good.

Even using a squeegee before mopping it up seems like it would be more efficient.

@@jrpacer6355 I worked in asda as a cleaner, we would never have been allowed to scoop all that up with a paper towel, about time this cleaning firm bought some up to date equipment,

This incredible mess can even become a bigger challenge! Imagine having to clean a place where a man has not only died but a week after, when the cleaners show up, he's found chewed up a tad and eaten by his 3 starving huskies? Not at all a pretty picture! You guys can handle with grace what i couldn't in a million years! More power to you!

The man that lives across from my mom,in her apartments. He died and was there for two weeks. The smell was unbelievable.

The maggots were creepy but all the oozy decomp and removal was amazing. That bathroom rug was awful! I had a property I manage with the worst case of german roaches, bed bugs, and hoarding I have ever seen, your guys in Kissimmee did an amazing job removing the hoard, filth, and mildew-infested cabinets. The pest control vendor is still treating it to eradicate the bugs.....Hats off to CSC!

I'm from Southern Indiana. Good to know that there is a Spalding decon team setting up in indy sometime in the future. A close friend of mine had need of services like that a few years ago after her husband shot himself. So this hits home.

6:30 Why do you guys not use some sort of scraper on that surface to just push it all together then scoop it all up? Seems like it would be quicker to just do that for the surface matter and maggots that you're wiping up. Layman perspective, would love to hear from the pros

This was during our franchise training so we like our new owners to get into the thick of it! A squeegee would've made it too easy! 🤣🤣

@@CrimeSceneCleaning is that why they're just wearing kiddos rain boots, lol. I was cringing watching the one woman slipin and slidin in the maggot stew even more about that than the maggots.

the best way to have dealt with the maggots is use a squigee broom and get them in one area or corner and use a shovel , one or to may have escaped but you gutted the place anyways

Not the willy wonka music while they scrub up maggot soup

Using clean wipes at that early stage is completely unnecessary. Use a scrubber and a shovel to clean out the coarse stuff, THEN use the clean wipes - or a mop. Though...if you plan to remove the tiles anyway, you can skip the clean swipes completely.

We use ozone generators in car rental, too. It works extremely well, but it is exceptionally dangerous and you have to keep the car locked up while it's running so no one can get in it. We air it out for a few minutes following, as well. It kills EVERYTHING, including you if you're inside while it's on.

I feel like spraying it with product and using a squeegee to move the death juice to a dust pan might work a little better than just moving it around with paper towels alone, but 🤷🏻♀️

Please forgive me if you already have answered this question - I was wondering what happens to your footwear , tools and equipment etc. that comes in contact with the bio - Is there some sort of de-contamination process ya’ll go through post site clean up? Would love to hear commentary during the video describing what y’all do to keep your equipment safe.

I would think they use it for the day and toss them in with the hazmat trash. I wonder if the smell gets into their hair and they go home and their family probably can smell it off them and they probably take ten showers a day
