In America, if the scammers get caught for this type of scam, they would definitely get more than 5 years jail time. A young man had been a victim of this scam, but after he paid out every cent he had, instead of telling someone or asking for help, sadly he took his own life, because he felt he was totally trapped, and had no way out. Which is why in America, they take this particular scam very seriously. Cuz not only are scammers scamming victims' money, they are possibly messing with people's lives.
