In regards to the headless torso. I read that at the time when the body was discovered. An estate agent contacted police saying a house near by had been abandoned. Police went to the house and found a copy of penthouse which contained an article on how to dismember a body and had numbers written all over it. “Gunter Josef Knieper, from Dresden, Germany, and Kornelia Maria Teusel first rented the property in September 1991 paying £10,000 (6 months rent) in advance.[1] The couple abandoned the property some time around 9 October 1991. Knieper, who had been using the pseudonym Dr Matthias Herrman, was being sought in Germany and Ireland on suspicion of business fraud” So the tenants were German, they had a magazine stating how to dismember a body, they abandoned the property and fled to Germany according to forensics the body is a man of south German decent. Apparently the police didn’t have evidence to connect the couple to the murder but I think case closed her no?

Kirsty Young and the team work with the police to appeal for help in cracking unsolved cases and bringing criminals to justice. The programme appeals for help with the murder of 22-year-old Royal Navy seaman Anthony Cavanagh and the 18-year-old case of a man mutilated and stripped of his identity. Plus, how DNA helped police catch child killer Robert Morley. 9pm Thursday 12th November 2009.

Steph - he appeared in the edition screened on Wednesday 5th April 2006. theukdatabase.net/2012/03/23/frederick-lawlor-rochdale/ There were probably other occasions. For instance, the "Crimewatch UK " programme of March 2008 included a "How They Caught Fred Lawlor" feature, with actor Ted Taylor in the title role. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZ-bYaOog9-Fq9k (from 42 mins 23 seconds.) www.mandy.com/actor/profile/ted-taylor There's a "Crimewatch" link on this BBC page, but, sadly, it doesn't work. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/manchester/7069534.stm Here's an interview with one of Lawlor's ex-girlfriends: reppeat.com/watch/?v=xVisLTnnZqc .

Like out of the Bill or the movies jumping court LOL. BUT I hope he was caught and sent where he must be.
Crimewatch gradually ‘transitioned’ from being an honest and albeit earnest attempt to help police fight crime (with mixed results) to being a sensationalised ‘show’. The BBC described it as ‘a revamp’. The reconstructions were awful, made worse by the wholly inappropriate and unnecessary music overdubs. Kirsty Young referring on occasion to a studio full of ‘coppers’, constantly stating the obvious, her angry and accusatory stance was, at the very least, irritating. The cocky, arrogant Rav ‘the Chav’ Wilding further detracted from the programme’s original, serious remit with his commentaries full of stupid puns and lame attempts at ‘humour’. His post CCTV footage demand, “names, please,” was both tedious and predictable. Matthew Amroliwala brought nothing significant to CW. He often seemed unsure of what he was saying, with occasional pausing and grinning while staring dreamily at Kirsty Young or indeed, any female. Alternatively, he almost seemed at times to positively relish the often horrific cases he ‘dealt with’. The overall tone became ever more patronising especially with the over-emphasised ‘pleas’ to “do the right thing,” “pick up the phone,” etc.
