As I began writing it, I was inspired to explore more. This thought-provoking script is more than mere entertainment; it challenges viewers to consider the ethical implications of scientific advancements. The story draws a poignant parallel to America's incarcerated population, highlighting them as a vulnerable group often overlooked and exploited. Imagine a world where freedom is bartered in exchange for participation in horrific and, at times, lethal, medical experiments-an all-too-possible scenario given society's apathy toward the imprisoned.
This script boldly exposes the corruption and inhumane treatment faced by these voiceless individuals, driven by the ruthless ambitions of those who only seek profit and fame. Through a futuristic lens, it invites us to question our values and the lengths we might go to achieve technological progress. DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT: " I aimed to use conventions of classic horror mixed with modern sci-fi to create an off-kilter, harrowing environment that reflects the internal turmoil of the main character, Roy. The palette also borrows heavily from German expressionism, eschewing realism to allow intense aesthetic presentations and performances to communicate the chaos gripping everyone involved in Dr. Troy’s biogenetic enterprise. An entirely-built stage set and touches of Artificial Intelligence mirror the way technology distorts our own modern reality and bring attention to the artifice we all live with, inside and outside of state-controlled settings."
