Then the pieces come together for another victory. Journaling those dark walks through the valley has helped me remember to stay persistent and humble and not take the victories for granted and to acknowledge God for them. Curious how you go into a criminal case. Do you do it in order such as make sure the initial paperwork is 100%, did the police and prosecutor follow procedure to the letter? Are the Constitutional implications up to the point the case comes to you checking out? Then look at the action compared to the charge(s)? That's pretty much how I do it. In that order. I find as I go through a case I think about it at odd times and sometimes I may run to a pad and pen to write down my thoughts or ideas. I think anyone dedicated to their work thinks that way. Nothing wrong with that. Although if you don't make a conscious effort to "step away" for a bit then it can consume you when it's a complicated case. You got this though. Talking through it is a blessing, not a curse.

I look at the police report first. I look for what is not there and glaring mistakes. I then mentally list potential arguments. I then acquire 911, Video, witnesses etc to. I then use statute and jury instructions. I send a letter to case intake, even if I don't have everything I write to prosecutor and present an initial argument.
