It’s actually really funny that they were so concerned about how it was going to go without Mandy, because I know that most people think of the cast from season 3-5 (and 7) as the «OG cast», it’s clearly the fan favourite cast😂

Kinda like how most NCIS fans much prefer the team and show in seasons 6-10 (The Golden Era). I like Rossi but I first got into the show with Gideon so it's a toss up between which one I prefer. That said, the show seemed to work fine without Mandy with Joe Mantegna in the lead role so at the end of the day it all worked out.

The writing for Mandy’s character was terrible. He was just there, so it wasn’t difficult to move on.

I definitely like the season 1-2 cast better and I feel like they are the real ogs, I really don’t like Rossi as a character and I feel like elle and gideon are better! But I do respect your opinion.

Losing Gideon seems to be akin to Cheers losing Shelley Long. Everyone was scared to death of what was gonna happen but the shows not only worked out when Joe Mantegna and Kirstie Alley came in and rescued the shows, but lots of fans actually consider their eras far better than before them. Doesn't always happen that way.

as much as i lovveeeedd this show, i had to stop watching it. i was creeped out by some episodes, i found myself being totally absorbed in it. sometimes i found myself thinking like a criminal. i got freaked out by some of the things i saw their jobs was done very well.

Same. I am very late to watching the show. But I had to take breaks, because I got really paraniod about being home alone and outside when it gets darker earlier. Not a very light hearted show.

I just finished watching "Psycho," the original 1960 and during the movie I found myself psuedo-profiling (did I just invent a new term?) the characters especially Bates! Thank you Criminal Minds! You guys and gals are great!

I never liked Gideon that much anyway, he wasn't a very good team player, he was a bit arrogant and he wasn't necessarily any better at profiling that the rest of them!

I missed Gideon, but he never bonded with the other characters, so I think the show was really better without him. Besides, Rossi is a great addition, he fit a lot better. For his sudden departure however, the character gideon was written off very well, in a believable manner, much better than the writers did with JJ and Emily.
