Hotch is fire on this, we all know he would moved Haven and earth for his team, I like the comparison between him talking down to Jordan and minutes after sweet talking to Garcia and even put a little smile at the end of conversation. This subtle acting I adore. Also Reid ❤😂, so sweet so charming and awkward it's so lovely. Really don't understand the attraction of bad guys. Geeks all the way !
@TimedRevolver Жыл бұрын
It's not that he's talking down to Jordan, it's that he needs her to understand how the team does things. She's clearly not experienced with it, and he would rather she be angry at him but correct her actions than be caught in a lie and destroy any trust people have in the BAU.

some historical context for this episode: a couple of years before this episode came out there was a book called the game by a neil something that got a lot of publicity, it's basically vipers handbook, and any andrew tate guy. the criminal minds writers would often write episodes about things going on in popular culture to lift subjects. one of my least favourite episode, but I can see why they wanted to use the theme.

I was waiting for this one! Did you know it was based on an actual VH-1 Reality show called "The Pickup Artist" from 2007 with just as cringy of an "expert" named "Mystery" down to the "tips" wacky outfits etc. I'm sure you can find it somewhere

To borrow some scumbag terminology, it'll "loosen her up" and she'll "lower her defenses", making it easier to seem trustworthy without actually having to perform any selfless acts or spend a lot of time building that trust.

This episode is more evidence that sex work needs to be legalized and regulated, it's the world's oldest profession and it will never stop, but having safe, legal, maintained avenues to conduct business will reduce drug use, violence against sex workers, and probably mass shooters.

What's interesting about the whole pick up artist thing is that they are actually using real psychological tricks that actually work. Not on everyone, not all the time. Your skill at using those tricks is of course also a factor. The pick up artists never want to admit it's a numbers game though and you'll likely fail more than succeed. They also don't want to admit this isn't going to get you a woman it's going to get you a night(if that) with zero chance at anything more. That said, you could convert some of the same tricks to go work on sales though, because they do work. It's all about catching people off guard and manipulating them.

Most so-called pick up artists just make up weird shit that doesn't work all the time nowadays

I have never understood those types of girls, women. I was never one. I literally made a list of personality, character, and physical traits I was looking for when I was 17. I kept that list in my wallet (girl wallets are big). I met my husband of over 20 years, when I was 18, he was 19. But I was just never that kind of girl. I fight for my rights against everyone if I need to. I'd fight for others rights too but I still don't understand staying in the submissive position.

11:45 - I don't get this logic. He is only watching her closely, he's not telling her what to do every step of the way - that's still her job. Once Hotch sees that she is doing well, he'll stop watching so closely. So I don't understand how watching someone can stop them from doing their job.
